Are you trying to ask "WHO" is the best player on the team?

And in my opinion....

It takes a WHOLE TEAM to be the best... not just "ONE PLAYER"

I think the players and the fans need to get more worked up..I mean they played Lincoln last week and their fans and cheerleaders and player was wound up and they came to play...Garrard should have beat them because they wasn't that impressive. I wish them goodluck in first round playoff...

Attitude reflects leadership, until you get a good leader these boys or this program will never have a chance to excell at their abilities. What do you expect from a man who feeds the boys french fries and pizza before a game? Garrard County will never have a good football program until you get coach's and you will never get good coach's until you have a good football program. Time for a change people!!! The man has ran more than his fair share of good athletes away in the last 3 yrs as a coach. He allowed eight graders to play over spots of the JV players in their last JV game of the season. When our boys played against Somerset, they were getting the crap beat out of them and that game was dirty!! The coach waited unitl the last 5 mins of the 4th quarter to step in and stand up for those boys, then went on the radio show acting as if he did the team a huge favor or he came across as some sort of savior or hero, Now if he had stepped in before half time and pulled the players off the field, that would've been a HERO but not the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter, after kids were being punched, stepped on, pinched, face masked, one got a concussion. That is no hero, that is no savior, that showed no loyalty to his team. The man plays YELLOW!!!!

First of all the expectations for Garrard football are always too high. Garrard has played football for over 45 years and I can remember only three or four really good teams. What is the problem I am not sure but it is just a fact. Garrard has had good coaches and bad ones. No one was able to really estalblish a good program for any amount of time.
I believe the new coach is not that bad. His main problem is his young, inexperienced coaching staff. I realize everyone has to start somewhere but all of the assistants are very young and both co-ordinators are first timers.
You can't just keep changing coaches. This guy needs to be given some time.
I realize that all parents think their son is the best and that is fine but not everyone is a great player. That's a fact of life. Garrard has had some nice athletes in its history but the fact remains that Garrard has turned out only one Divison one football player in its history. Schools like Somerset, Boyle and Danville grind them out. There are a couple of young kids on this team that may have D-1 potential but they have a long way to go.
As for pulling the team off the field against Somerset. what would that have possibly proved?
I think the current coach can get the job done in the long run if he is given a chance but like I said he also need to upgrade his staff in the worst way.
I do think that administration should support the program more. If it wasn't for the parents and the alumni assoc. this team wouldn't have anything.
I don't believe they really care if any sport wins as long as they stay out of trouble.
If you think the football situation at Garrard is bad just look at the other fall sports.
Excuse all the rambling.
Just support you team!

garrard had a good coach in jerry perry and they didnt want him. you dont need a good team to get a good coach. a good coach can build a team. garrad county doesnt give a dam about their sports period.

and his coaching staff isnt the problem. for example, most of the crutchfields went off to play in college and were the best years of garrards football team. he, scenters, needs to get a grip and learn how to teach his players some character off the feild too.

Which Crutchfield played in college? Neither Spencer nor Keven ever played in college. Just another fact.

Before it was Garrard County, the 1958 Lancaster High team was undefeated and un-tied. I believe the coach at the time was Coy Dyehouse. I Was trying to think of the names of some of the players, remember a Huffman kid. I think Bradley Cox, but not sure. Maybe Donald Stump? Gilbert Charles Lee? or was he a basketball player? Old Timer, I bet you can name others.

That 58 team was indeed undefeated and ranked # 1 in the state. That was before the playoffs as we know them today. Marshall Johnson was the quarterback and went on to play at UK. Bradley Cox was on that team. He went to Colorado State. Charlie Lee, Tommy Huffman and Jackie Fathergill were in the backfield. Some of the other players were Ray Young, Roy Gibson, Billy Rigsby, Charlie Ellis, Neal Prather and Smokey Simpson.

Last time I checked Garrard football and a nice run throughout the early 90's until 1996. Always winning at least 8 games or more and going to the regional championship in 1993 and 1995. Jerry Perry built the team from the ground up. I'm not saying he was the greatest field general but the man had a lot of talent and put them in unbelievable shape. So Garrard football definitely has had some good teams!!

I didn't say no good teams. I said really good teams. I know that is a matter of opinion. Fact is Garrard has never won a regional title.
