Very sorry about your experience with dr. Taheri. That is unfortunate that you werent helped with what was prescribed. We, on the other hand have always had very good experiences with Dr. Taheri and his friendly staff.
My 7 yr old son had to have a big mole biopsied and then removed off his back. Dr. Taheri did a wonderful job. I do realize this your circumstance and experience was different but I felt I needed to say something positive about this doctor. I know others that have also had nothing but good experiences with this doctor.
I do hope you were able to eventually see another doctor that was able to help you successfully.

I also had a mole biopsied by Dr. T, and he took the stitches out too early (even though he originally had said he'd leave them in longer). Because of that, I had to be butterflied back up, and when those were later removed, he ripped them off which was very painful. I also have a huge scar from taking to large of a biopsy punch.
He also would do other treatments that I wasn't seeing him for, and bill to my insurance.
I sure didn't think much of his "skills" at all.
No one has come close to Dr. West- the best Dermatologist ever- who retired.

Had a horrendous experience getting Botox at Advanced Dermatology in Palmdale, Ca. I have had botox done by four different doctors in Utah, and never had a bruise bigger than about 2 cm - one time only. After seeing a young man who claimed to be an assistant, I ended up with a bruise under each eye. Each bruise is 1 and half inches long, and I look like I've been punched in both eyes. The young man must have used a large needle than I'm used to, because it was more painful than I remember with any of the other doctors. He seemed to be in a hurry and did not try to make me feel at ease. He was rough in the way he injected the botox. The bed did not even rise and he had to reach across my face to do the injection. He also injected right under my eye, which I've been told should never be done, in order to avoid the lower eyelids drooping. I will never go through Advanced Dermatology again for botox. You shouldn't either.

I have been going to Taheri's office in the Palmdale, CA, for years, even with every building move. The office staff has become completely pushy and money hungry in recent years. Every time I make an appointment to see a doctor, I end up paying a copay to see a PA. This same male PA always tries to push antibiotic pills and various acne creams when I would just like get a few cystic acne injections and be approved for micro-dermabrasions. This PA does not even listen to the concerns I voice about the antibiotic pills possibly making my birth control inactive.

At an appointment a year ago, I showed a female, asian doctor (not the PA) a very small crumb sized skin tag on my chest that I thought may need to be removed. She insisted that it did need to be removed and I ended up with what looked to be a huge cigarette burn on my chest as a result of a tool she used that actually burned my skin. She stated it was necessary to burn so deeply because "sometimes there are roots" and advised me there would be no scar once it healed. As a result I now have a caved in, purple scar with thin skin that still resembles a large cigarette burn. My tiny skin tag increased in size by a hundred and is now dark purple! This was a year ago and the cigarette burn mark still remains on my upper chest area, visible at all times. This doctor was so eager to bill my insurance for the procedure that she did not mind leaving a permanent mark on my skin. I tried to complain to the staff about this issue, but no one was really responsive and I was not offered a resolution.

Dr.Taheri's office is great for chemical peals, micro-dermabrasions, and cystic acne injections. But, do not let any employee come near your skin with any tool unless you get a second opinion first or you will likely end up with scarred skin. I have seen far worse scars on relatives who have gone to Taheri's office for a basic mole removals. This office will perform any procedure they possibly can if they know you have good insurance!
