Hey in coming Mayor Berry, FORGET IT, that money can be better used for better things.

Don't be like the Midget Marty and so far you sure are behaving like him in some ways.

Man it didn't take long for the downtown business folks to buy Berry. Elected officials have always come cheap in this state.

An arena downtown will fill the coffers for the city in parking revenue.
I hate downtown because of the parking.
Case in point, the guy who boots everyone outside a fast food place that parks in his lot for 2 minutes.
Sniff,Sniff, I smell something rotten.
Could it be a corrupt city administration?

Takes money to make money.

Does anyone here doubt the success of isotopes park, or the rapid ride, or the improved balloon park? Maybe we should just go back to horses and carriages and that would make all the backward folk happy. We could then admire all the slow paced poo around downtown.

I don't think the time or economy is right for a downtown arena.

An arena for WHAT? That is the question. Why not use the PIT for whatever the plan is? As far as Rapis Ride goes, I've never taken a ride on that boondoggle. I've been to two Isotopes games, so mr mr, what is your point. Still banging muck farty's bandwagon?
No downtown arena, it would be a waste of money.

Don't do it, its a trick. Do you ever go downtown, I don't, its to much of a hassle. Albuquerque doesn't need an arena downtown.

I appreciate that Mayor-elect Berry acknowlnowledges the priority of the Event Center and Hotel/Retail components. This economic driving endeavor is vital, not exclusuvely for Downtown but for the entire city of Albuquerque. If we are going to compete with cities in our region such as Tucson, Denver and even Oklahoma we need quality of life growth to lure new businesses and increase tourism dollars. It is crucial and a grat opportunity right now for our city to evolve and stay competitive with the big boys. Let's move forward Albuquerque!

Well said. Our teachers don't have paper or pencils (which at the elementary level is really what they need to help kids learn reading, writing and math). They are required to disinfect their classrooms at their expense. No soap or towels. And at Albuquerque High, the bathrooms are locked all day for "safety". Strange choice of priorities, mr. mayor.

I like Berry but we don't need a downtown arena. Unless we can lure the Scorpions away from Rio Rancho and then that basketball team. But a 12,000 arena is small. Why not make it 15,000 or a bit more. Just in case by some act of God we get an NHL or NBA team here. Which will never happen because people in ABQ are just too simple minded and content with the way it is.

That is APS priority not his. Screw APS. They could solve all the problems by ending fraud and union abuse. They reap what they sow. You deserve no more of my money to educate your punk kids.

Enough is enough. Debt, drunks, dropouts, flagrant corruption, illegals sucking the system dry. I'm now seriously looking for employment outside this place.

First offer I get I'm gone, the rest of you can have Mexico back.
