Copperas Cove Police Department has done a good job of stopping the out in the streeet drug trade on Sunset Ln in broad daylight and also a night.

Maybe Copperas Cove Code enfordement officers can get off their dead @sses and do their job at 401, 403, 405 and 313 Sunset which they have not done for 2 yearss. Looks like vandalized sections of Detroit.

James, go the the city website. There is something like The Citizens Support Center on it and under that is "Ask a Question". Click on that, enter your question/complaint, and it will be brought to the attention of the city manager very quickly.

I have good luck sending the code enforcers E-Mail. All of my complaints have been taken care of. Go to the City web site and get their address. Ask them questions and you get an ansure back. They keep a log on all the call ins and E-Mails and can give you an update why something is not done.

I have gave up on Copperas Cove Code enforcement a long time ago. They choose who they go after and if yous complain you may find yourself the target.

At least the police got the drug dealers away from those empty vandalized apartments. Just drive by 401, 403, 405 and 313 Sunset and ask yourself how could the city ignore this situation for probably 2 years or more.

401, 403 & 405 are owned by TSAIAVEN, 735 Eagle Brook Ln, Naperville, IL 60565 send a letter to the owner. Value of property is 401 -$141,28 403 -$142,200 & 405 -$131,020. 313 belongs to Anthony Ciaramello valued at 157,860. Good Luck getting a response the city see dollar signs & will not piss off high value property owners. This has been going on alot longer than 2 years.

I do not want to have any contact with Copperas Cove code enforcement. Recently they have been after residents for high grass on Sunset. What a joke when you see the unsecured buldings at 401 403 405 313 Sunset. This is a potential liability on the city of Copperas Cove. They have known about these buildings for over 2 years and have failed to take charge when the owners have not taken care of these properties. They are too busy chasing the little guys and bullying them around.

It is time to clean house and the city manager should be the first one to go.

I don't know about people who come plain that the code enforcers don't do their jobs then complain when they do. How do you know they are not activly doing anything on buildings on Sun Set. They have to do everything legal.

They have not done anything. Because the owner is not local on Bldgs 401, 403, & 405. To much paperwork. I have sent a letter to the owner along with pictures & have not heard back - that was in 2008. The Mayor needs to get with a lawyer & take action. Why are we paying taxes for if noone will do their job. I'm a taxpayer & did it myself (lot of good it did) but aleast I did something.

Sorry I don't think that's in the mayors job description (to hire a lawyer to sue for corrective action). Perhaps the city manager should do it?

you pay $60 or less a month in city taxes, how far could you go if you were restricted to what you pay? Don't start on the fact that you pay all of the employees salaries because you do not. Post your name, post your address, and then we all can look at what you pay each year in city taxes. www.coryellcad.org

The Mayor of Copperas Cove is only a figure head and has no real power......ask the former Mayor.

You dont get it - the city can be libel if it is proven they did not take corrective action to the problem. Any ass can sue if they get the right lawyer - remember the lady who sued the city over the crack in the sidewalk. Yes the Mayor can with the help of the city lawyer generate a letter of concern/safety to the owner of the property pointing out the ordinance & city code failures that the property owner is not maintaing. Why to we even have codes or ordinances if they are not going to be enforced.

Yes the Mayor is a figure head he is the one who represents this city & he is the one who can & should as the representative of Cove inform the owner of his or her failure to meet what the rest of us here in the city have to meet to maintain property. Don't you want a safe city or are you just glad that most of the drug problems are located on Sunset. Better yet you are to *#@#@$@# to get off your ass & do something. I pay total around 1700 dollars in taxes (city, county & CTC).

Sorry Pack, but the Mayor cannot direct anyone in the City government to do anything. We have a weak Mayor; stong Council type of government in Cove.

It's called a Home Rule Charter, and while the mayor if mainly a figure head, he certainly could bring it up at a council meeting and get people to start asking the tough questions of this worthless city manager.

He will not be directing anyone it would be a letter of concern for the city. The mailcarrier & some other delivery folks have complained about their safety on that street. The Street dept has to cut the grass over there, the meter reader has to do their job. The city lawyer can show justification because he is a city ordinance expert. The Mayor would be writing as a concerned citizen with the interest of the city employees who have to work in that environment.

Really, really bad guess Pack. If he complained as a private citizen it would get no better results than any other private citizen complaint. If he brought the city attorney into it and complained as mayor he would be in violation of the city charter. The best solution would be to work with the Building Department to have the buildings declared uninhabitable as they currently stand and subject to demolition if the deficiencies are not corrected in x days. The city could then get a court order to bulldoze them and bill the property owner for it.
