Yepper I suppose it's now time for the fruitcakes to ban shotguns and next it'll be forks and knives so we all can live like we're in one big prison with the lord marshal b. h. obama watching over us...

It's certainly time to charge the owner of that shotgun as an accessory to the crime!

How did a 16 y/o with a history of being bullied get a shotgun?
How did he get it out of the house without his parents noticing he's carrying a shotgun?
How did he get to the school with no one noticing he had a shotgun?

Stopping bullying in our schools would end these shootings.

Everyone of these school shootings should be graphically used in every school nationwide to demonstrate to the children the potential harm their bullying can do, and to show them that acting civilized and humane is the best policy and in the interest of their own well being and that of all the people in a school.

The owner of the shotgun didn't pull the trigger, bozo. How the hell did this kid get bullied for a year and NO one, teachers, administrators put a stop to it???

Bullying in school can be controlled by making the bullies responsible for thier actions serverly,, couseling OF the bullies, not the victims and levying heavy fines on consistent bullies by local justices. I know....it's done here and it works.

How in the hell did you get released from the mental ward?

Might as well charge the company that dug the ore that was used to make the steel for the gun as well

Since Unions and School unions in particular get their way by bullying the states, and schools systems, they are furtile ground to raise bullys in.

Doesn't matter, the gun owner should still be liable for leaving a deadly weapon where their obviuosly disturbed child could get to it.

I agree the bullies must be held responsible for their actions; though ironically the same people who oppose any kind of gun control are also the same people most likely to oppose any anti-bullying programs in schools.

Once gun owners are held responsible for the harm their weapons cause, there will be a LOT less incidents of kids getting their parents guns and going on shooting rampages.

With gun ownership comes responsibility; just as I can be held legally liable if I let my teenager drive my car even though he doesn't have a license and he injures someone in an accident.

Why? The company doesn't own the gun so they aren't responsible for it.

Whomever owns the gun has a responsibility to ensure their gun is used in accordance with the law.

False....Texas has a vast majority of gun owners and are vastly anti gun control.

Texas has school resource officers armed at most schools, with the officers office at the front where everyone comes in. ALL the panic are locked and everyone coming in must go through the officer to be checked in. Wonder why all these shootings are taking place in very liberal states??????????

So in your thinking......GM and/or the parents should be held libel when a drunk teen age driver kills someone while driving a Chevy.........fkn brilliant.

Even if your kid has a drivers license....and he drives high or drunk....who do you go after? YOU? You own the car. The auto company, the car salesmen?? How about the liqour maker??

So for those concerned with gun control, the question is where to draw the line. On one hand if you ban everything, then you can't have steak knives because they could kill someone. Some people are trained to kill with their bare hands, so some knowledge would have to be banned. Clearly an absurd idea.

On the other hand, allowing everything means you can walk out of an insane asylum and obtain intercontinental ballistic nuclear missiles. If some insane person doesn't like a particular country, he could wipe it off the map. Again an absurd idea.

So we have to draw the line somewhere. I am not saying I know where that somewhere is, but unless it is drawn we have an absurd law.

I am looking for an answer as to where to draw the line. What are the characteristics of weapons that should not be allowed. What are the procedures for determining who is mentally/emotionally capable of handling those weapons.

If you have an opinion, please be specific.

So when a thief steals a car from a drive way and hits someone and kills them, the owner is responsible for the person being killed by their car. You must be an attorney.

Iran and North Korea are currently working towards that end. Not so asinine as you may think!
