Well I have to agree with lil sis on this one. I am originally from Lamesa Texas I lived there for 25 years and I know how the police system works there. I know that if you live on what they call the wrong side of the tracks that 9 times out of 10 the police are to afraid to even go there to do their jobs. I also agree that if you are not white and have money that you are just a nuisance to the Lamesa Police Department. I know this only because I was assaulted when I was 16 and when I went to turn the guy in the Police Department told me that I would lose the case because his friends would side with him and one of his friends dad was part of the Sheriff's posse, with that being said lil sis isnt being racist at all just stating the facts.

the true colors come out for lil sis, just throw the race card out there on anything. It is sad this world has come to dropping the race card everytime something happens. We have a black President, I think the everyone in the world is trying to move on except people like lil sis. I will give props to JJ, I see he mentioned he was black in an earlier post but did not throw the race card out there like lil sis, he just wanted to know who it was which is a normal response on local news like that. Lil Sis has a good point, meaning that if you are not black, maybe something can be done about this crime. In other words, if you are black ( and hispanic),the law is not on your side. It would be nice to be able to move on, but racism cannot b e ignored. It is very much alive in West Texas, the Panhandle, and all over the good old USA. As a Hispanic, I am aware of this fact but I do my best to excel and no one can stop me. I sure don't dwell on it, but if I see it, I don't ignore it and bury my head in the sand either.

I dont know about that whole race card thing. I dont believe in it myself. I have been done dirty by some lamesa cops , but I have seen some white boys done dirty too. Lamesa is a corupt town. Ive seen every race done dirty except arab. As far as that willie thing is concerned the lamesa police dept. needs to get off there ass and make an arrest. I dont think they have not made an arrest because he was black and on welfair. I think they have not made an arrest because they are idiots.

Lil sis said if you are black and on welfair implying that black people are on welfair her linking black people to welfair in tht way is racist. I'm also from Lamesa and most of the black people I knew worked hard everyday, whith that said I do view lil sis comment as an insult on the black race. When the focus should be on the lamesa police department discriminating and not doing there job. she should have said if you are a poor minority or on welfair that is not racist but what she said is. welfair is in no way exclusive to black people as she implied. all asinine replies will be teated as such. and i sure dont know what you talking about when you say the wrong side of the tracks we talking about lamesa as far as that goes the whole lil dustbowl town is on the wrong side of the tracks..

SO I take it Willie Butler was your uncle. As far as I know the Lamesa Police has done a much better job on his case than many others I have witnessed in the past. When I heard how the investagation was carried out I was a little suprised with the interagation of witnesses and collection of DNA evidence and it is my understading that they now have someone in custody for his murder.If you are Willies neice I think you just used a bad chioce of words as far and the black and on welfair statement.
