It's so sad I'm sure there was a younger guy working out there that could of done that work. They weren't even equipped with the right equipment. Word of advice for the family file a lawsuit and get in contact with osha.

This was a preventable death. This company is known for not providing safety equipment to their employees, not even the bare essentials like gloves. They never conducted safety meetings which are required by OSHA. Nobody wore H2s monitors, FRC clothing or any type of safety PPE, alll required by OSHA. Employees always comment on how TIGHT the Hatchetts are, and their only concern is "Playing Hard". This is very sad for the Mojica family. If that well had been tested for H2s, Mariano would have had to strap on an air pack, again, required by OSHA at a well site for that type of operation. Let's hope this type of careless, negligent and total disregard for life practice stops.

They are known for being easy on drug users, Mariano was not one of them, he was a hard working man. For this reason many go work there cause they never get tested. Therefore they keep their mouth shut of all the deficiencies and shortcomings of their employer, like not making an attempt to keep workers safe and alive.

How about all of you unintelligent, liberal, well-fare check, no-it alls go get your lonestar cards filled up and stick to what you know. Roustabout gangs are not required to carry air packs. This is the job and requirement of the production company itself. It's a tragedy and loss that is hard to cope with, not an opportunity for abrasive comments towards an employer that not only takes care of their employees, but who are also grieving the loss of a friend who was with them for many years.

So entering a "confined space" is ok, without testing it? WOW! Just give the employee a gun and have him hold it to his head and pull the trigger. And I am not a liberal, I voted straight ticket Republican. And my wife and I made 130,000.00 this year , didn't quite qualify for a lonestar card, never have. Not required to have an air-pack, but it is required to enter a "Confined Space" sweetheart. You tell OSHA to mind their business.

And before you accuse anyone not being intelligent...
well-fare?? It's welfare Sherlock.. And no-it??? I think you meant "Know it.". It's ok, ignorance doesn't discriminate, good luck to you.

Wow silver you sure seem to know an awful lot about the Hatchett family. Weren't you on another thread calling another family member a child molester and now on this thread bashing these. You must have some kind of personal axe to grind. Your statement that you're married is surprising enough (you seem like a total loser) but I actually laughed when you had to post that you and your wife made $130,000.00 this year. What kind of pathetic loser has to post a dollar amount on topix to try and impress all the other trash that talk crap on this forum too. Get a life and take your personal issues with this family elsewhere. You're very obviously jealous of them if you have to make untrue comments about them in several different threads!
WOW, sorry, didn't mean to hit a nerve. You are right the dollar amount was uncalled for. I guess I was just trying to counter what was assumed of me, that I am on welfare. I am NOT jealous of the Hatchetts, I think they are a wonderful family, just upset of the senseless death. Call me a loser if you want. The truth sometimes hurts as I can see from reponses from my comments. I am not hurt by anything you say, because what you say is not true. Good luck to you.

I assumed you were a loser because your comments don't seem to reflect your statement that you're "upset of the senseless death". You bash others for their spelling and grammatical errors but that statement is not grammatically correct. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to brag about your level of intelligence either. The Hatchetts are a wonderful family, but your previous comments about them don't coincide with that particular comment either. You should probably stop backtracking and actually just stop commenting all together, because by calling attention to others faults, yours just become more glaringly obvious. Good luck to you as well. I have a feeling that your life must really suck if this is how you spend your free time.

No it doesn't suck...I actually just recently came across this sight. I am on it probably for the same reasons you are, what are you doing here anyway?? Does your life suck?? When I first commented on this topic, I said things that are constantly said by employees, such as, "he doesn't supply us with what we need," these employees constantly mentioned they had no gloves, no hand cleaner, no H2s monitors, no FRC clothing, and other supplies and equipment to work comfortably and safe. However they mentioned Shawn was always quick to spend thousands of dollars to purchase large amounts of Liquor, in cases, and deliver to his customers along with other perks, hmmm.? You say bashing, yes it started long ago, from his own employees.
I won't comment on this any further, I just hope they can correct this inadequacies that put employees in harms way. Your approach to this topic and how you have come to their defense is very assertive and aggressive. Please take the same stance and concern in helping them take corrective actions. Thank you. My apologies about my comments on Stephen.

All I have to say is silver your dumb, sure Hatchett Roustabout employees may throw him under the bus with this bullsh*t but they sure don't mind asking his to borrow money to help pay this pill or to get Christmas presents. They are NOT required to wear FR's, if they don't have gloves and hand cleaner that's there faults for not telling him they need more, and for the H2S monitors they all have them it's not the owners job to babysit is hands and drive around to make sure they are all wearing them, It's the employees job to make sure they wear the monitors. It's a sad thing that happened to there employee but he had worked around that same site for a long time they knew it was bad, he ignored all the things he knew for what reason we will never know. It's there job to be safe out there they had the equipment, the owner can watch every truck to make sure they are being safe 24/7. If the employees talk so much shit then they need to walk there butt to a different company, oh wait they can't because they might need to borrow money and the next employer won't give them one. The Hatchett's are great people I've known them all my life and they would do anything for anyone. And I'm pretty sure it's not illegal to by beer, I'm sure your the first people on a Friday to go buy some bud light and drink a few.

Maybe if they actually got paid a little more than minimum wage they wouldn't have to borrow. Do the backhoe operators even make money there.
