I think that high school girls that are pretty will look pretty in whatever they wear, even uniforms.
If you're not so attractive, skinny jeans and skimpy tops are not going to help.

As an alumni I support uniforms because there are those who do try to bend rules. And those who simply don't care. As several have stated wat u wear shouldn't matter, u set yourself up there. If it truely does not matter then why fight against then. I fine shopping fun but also a pain. The schools taste is getting stricter. And we will eventually land where uniforms are required. Yes then kids do have the right to express them selves lamesa is know for alot of single parents. Not that it's a bad thing, but with today's cost of things today and the basic paycheck most citizens receive today. What can it hurt? We would be helping our community and also make us a stronger better community where we could actually expand. Aldo not to be mean but honestly what's wrong wit taking from our sports fund out football team spends thousands on uniforms and gear and for what? Honestly we are lucky if we win 3 games. And education and restoring our community's appearance and standards are more important!

Well parent so your saying because the school has a dress code kids won't turn out to be gangsters and such? If that's what you think then you are in lala land. Sorry to disappoint you but I have always been involved in my kids school activities. I have more than one child glad to say they are off in college and the others are in gifted and talented. So with that said I think I did a hell of a job raising mine. O and one more thing to you they don't have any kids yet. So school to them was more important than premarital sex. To another parent I know things are expensive and ya me and mine think like you and your husband in the aspect that the kids have to do something to earn what they want. I understand that at work everyone wears the same but it's different than it would be in school. Just because they are kids it doesn't mean they should not have a say in some things. Like this issue they have to be happy and content in their lives I think to be able to concentrate and do well. I know kids would not like uniforms they would be miserable and some even drop out if they were forced to wear uniforms. Just ask your own kids about this issue. I was not on here to put any parent down just staying facts based upon the other posts. Exactly let's value our children on what they can do wearing what they feel comfortable in uniform or not right ?
. Justg because they didn't have kids dint mean they didn't have sex I know that some of th e sluttiest girls in school never got pregnant. And trust me they got around

I think in the long run, school uniforms would save money to those that can't really afford it.

Uniforms are not the topic for the students or parents. Education in this town is. Instead of worrying about the cost of clothing worry about what the students are being or not being taught. I am a single parent and looking at uniforms for my kids cost the same if not more for my kids then it does if I go get them clothes that they like. Uniforms in Lamesa is not going to happen unless reform occurs. Besides the students will drop if they want to drop and get pregnant no matter what they are wearing. Uniforms are not the solution. Parenting at home and morals and values are.

Honestly parents should worry more about grades and who they hang out with I go to high school and teachers and staff pay more attention to dress code and send students to iss which means out of class and grades go down

I think most of y'all are assuming that wearing uniforms will instantly change your kids into better kids. When in actual reality it's the parents who should be disciplining thier kids at home and getting them to do their homework and stuff like that that's gonna make them do better. What you wear is not gonna turn you into a "thug, drug dealer, blah, blah, blah." What you learn, do, and experience at the home is where all that comes into play. So wearing uniforms isn't going to stop that. 2nd. If buying school clothes is to expensive, limit your kids to what they can buy. Clearance isles have good stuff too, but it's stuff you have to look for. & if you your kid is old enough to work, let them buy their own school clothes, cause the older they get, the more expensive they get. If they want something that is out of your budget let them pay for it themselves, STOP babying your kids and make them go get a job to buy what they want. And with a job they won't have time to go be a thug, a drug dealer or a teenage parent and it shows them a value of a dollar and that their parents can't support them their whole life. So get it off it with the whole "uniforms will better our kids." Bettering your kids is a community thing, that needs to be done everywhere not just at the school.
