Abortion also protects her body. Pregnancy is fraught with health risks.

We need to stop telling omen how to manage their lives, like they were too stupid to make their own decisions.

It's a woman's body - therefore it is 100% HER responsibility to proactively protect her body from unplanned pregs and STD's. If a woman is raped, then she should be given the morning after pill at the hospital. Per the CDC, over 52% of all unplanned pregnancies are because woman use NO birth control. That is just plain stupid & irresponsible. Incest - less than 1/2 of 1%- and those should be addressed and permitted, just as abortions should when the mother's health is at risk. We need to stop using abortion as birth control for woman that are too stupid & lazy to protect their own bodies.

I agree totally. When the woman discovers she is pregnant, the doctor must be forced to put a stethoscope to her abdomen and ask quite loudly, "Do you mind if we abort you?" If the fetus doesn't answer, then the woman, being the legal guardian, will have to make the decision for it.

All for it. How about choice for the baby? After the so-called holocaust hype you would think a bunch of jewish women would be more sensitve to genocide. Stop the genocide of the unborn.
I believe America made a horrible move in the wrong direction when it legalized murdering the unborn.

Your logic doesn't hold. She didn't ingest an illegal SUBSTANCE or break a LAW. She had sex, which is entirely legal if she is not a minor and if it was consensual. The constitution allows us to make our own health decisions; that has been upheld in a variety of cases.

The "It's a woman's body" argument is vapid and invalidated by the fact that the same woman is not free to smoke marijuana or drive without a seatbelt, etc. How is it our body's are only our own in this one case but the government claims our bodies in every other case? What a ridiculous double standard.

I'm sorry you had to go through that and that you have gotten control of your life again. But these people don't care; the only thing that matters is the fetus.

I was raped about 10 years ago and ended up pregnant. I was an emotional wreck. I ended up having a miscarriage. Had that not happened I would have had an abortion. I was so emotionally unstable that if I was forced to go through with the pregnancy I would have killed myself. I wasn't given the "choice" - I was raped. Oh, and by the way, I was given the morning after pills - not 100% effective. Do you still think that the womens choice is a "poor argument that doesn't stand up to logic"?

It's much easier to vasectomize every male.

Well, it's a cute idea, but it has no basis whatsoever in the law. Pregnancy is a medical happenstance and it is curable for those who would prefer not to be pregnant.

Yep.
Women do not lose their civil rights just because conception occurs, despite the wishes of the zealots of the PLM. Intercourse and pregnancy are two different events, each involving choices to be made by the individual woman. Consent to sex (YAY! oops, that just slipped out) does not equal consent to pregnancy.

It would be better if young men made a donation to a sperm bank, and then got a vasectomy. Much less invasive, and they have a supply of sperm in case they want to become a dad some day. Fatherhood by choice, rather than by accident or deception.
