It's art. The human body is a thing of beauty. Get over it.

Sure - maybe they can censor nudity in high school, but why is the news coverage censoring it as well? Are we not adult enough to see the work of art? From what I can see, the girl looks immensely talented.

So if my son takes pictures of fellow students nude, but calls it art then it is ok to post them on the walls at school?
Bet your son already has lots of "art" on his cell. But don't peek that would be censorship.

Oh, for crying out loud, these are teen-agers, you really think they never saw a nude body? Its not like it was painted in a provocative manner or showed all details. I remember being in high school and seeing student paintings of nudes; again, not in a sexually provocative manner. We are still victims of the ultra-right who dictated so much to the rest of us, crying 'Constitutional Rights', their rights, while censoring others. Violence, in the movies/games is a lot more disturbing than a nude painting. These kids have seen a lot more just by going to the movies!!!! Stop the madness. sheesh

Freedom of speech has gone down the drain. There is no such thing as freedom anymore in America. I understand that a school is a private institution and the US laws do not always apply inside the walls of an institution, but this is happening everywhere. I believe her art is a beautiful piece and anyone should be allowed to see it

I think it's wonderful that this artist would paint such a realistic painting. She has a special talent. By painting a women in the nude, shows to me that she is mature and ready to enter the real world. As a parent that is on thing that we want our children to learn before going out into the real world. I would definitely buy this painting if I was given the chance!!!! I would proudly display that in my home! It a symbol of freedom, confidence, and pride!

I find it funny that t10TV posts a story about censorship, and then censor the artwork themselves. Looks like high schoolers arent the only people with a lower maturity level.

I would defer to school practice on this one. If they have taken students to view art with naked people in it, then they need to leave it up. If they remove nude art from books, cover the statue of David, etc, then take the picture down during the school day.

The naked body is a beautiful piece of art. Shame on individuals who can't deal with looking in a mirror at themselves and feel the naked body is too controversial. These are the same parents who allow their kids to play violent video games, listen to rap music and watch movies with violence - but don't let your kids see a nude body - it may hurt them somehow.

The most famous paintings in the world -- very "religious" based -- from the Renaissance -- all have nudes. "The Creation" by Michelanglo. And speaking of the Master, has anyone ever seen "David"?? As in the Biblical HERO.

I point out the male nudes to contrast and compare.

There are a lot of screwed up people in this society who can't handle seeing a naked booby.

I am an artist and I was in many shows in High School.

We have seen naked men and women and you do need to have a maturity level. I don't think this art should have been taken down at all. If you are not mature, to see a painting of a naked women you have a problem. I can see if it was hanging up in an elementary school but It clearly wasn't.

Tricia, you need to continue to have your daughter push the envelope. From what I can see of that piece it is amazing. I myself had a few pieces that were looked at as....should we show that? The answer is yes, it is your work it is representing something you want. It is art.

In reality people just need to grow up and repsect art.

Hey, from one artist to another, don't let them stop you from anything. The only things I've regretted in my art career are the pieces I've let people remove because they were "Sensetive Subjects".

Keep rockin'.

So what does this student's artwork show that isn't seen on MTV or regular TV for that matter. Censorship never has worked in high school. If parents are niave enough to believe this is good for the students, most of them really need to get a life...and maybe take their teen to a real art musem
