I have been gone from jamestown for some time. I needed a decent place, not extravagant to stay for a couple of nights. The Clarion or ramada or what ever it is now------what the hell happened to it? I remember as a sales rep stayin dowtntown at holiday inn with bar (happy hour) live music, patio bar. Bar was hopping, pool was in great shape- place was center of all downtown activity. Just recently stayed there, guess I hadnt realized the downward spiral. Now its like a hi rent flophouse, no bar, no liquor lic or entertainment. To all of you locals--- what happened?????????? to new young generation, you missed out on great treasure!

If you have to ask rosco, it would be too expensive for you to understand. Nothing like partying down at patsy's

It's a Ramada now. The influx of newer hotels (Best Western, Hampton, and remodeled Comfort Inn) over the past few years killed it. The rest of Jamestown is suffering hugely, too. With a shut down in businesses and attractions, the tourist portion is declining fastest. I remember when I was younger thinking that there was nothing to do around town, but it's only gotten worse for the younger generations. And, yeah, Ross, if you have to ask that question, you obviously can't afford it to understand it.

I save my money. I went on three long-distance vacations last year. Staying at hotels far away from downtown Jamestown. You people are flat-out retarded.

Well, lah-dee-dah, Ross. When you're a teenager and want to have a party without getting busted for wrecking your parents' house, you do it at a hotel.

You can't book a hotel room until you're 18. Or 21 in some places. How old are you exactly if you are still living at home and have to sneak away to party in a hotel room?

I remember the patio bar! Wow, that was years ago. It wasn't just for hotel guests Ross. I remember it used to be packed in the summer.
