I'm also sure it's called "The Chutes" instead of "The Shoots".

"Are you smarter than a fifth grader"? Uhhhh... guess not! Are you all on drugs or what??? Wow, what scares me the most is you drive, vote, and have (and raise) children.

Article "most drivers said they didn't realize they were going that fast"

WHAT?? ARE THEY TALKING ON THE PHONE OR SOMETHING????

UMMM..ISN'T A SPEEDODOMETER REQUIRED EQUIPMENT IN A CAR????

UMMM..doesn't the driver have a responsibility to be paying attention to what they are doing??

oh yeah---no body takes responsibilty for their actions anymore

You are so right. Whether behind the wheel or crossing the street, people on their cellphones are oblivious to everything except their phones and person they are talking/texting to.

What a pile of bs lakewood cop's are mad because with the wall's on 6th ave they can't pull somebody over safely who are they kidding they can make you take an exit route and stop you then. A hole's shouldn't be stopping anyone on a major highway not safe, Real reason they want that revenue from speeder's easy money for the cop's it's all about the money.

Driving 80MPH safely is a heck of a lot better than these Passive-agressive drivers doing 45-50 in the "fast" lane of traffic. I would like a dollar for each & every time I had to slam on my brakes because of these morons who think they need to control left lane drivers who generally keep up with traffic. Chicago tollwyas left lane average sped is 75-80 mph & in 3-1/2 years I still have yet to see an accident. It's called, flowing traffic! Denver longs to be a major metroplis, yet they are still small town thinkers & doers or lack there of! I love Denver, I miss it dearly; however, Denver need to move on & grow up into the metropolis they wish to be.

That is what every dumb*** says in response to getting traffic tickets. I have been to four fatal accidents just in 2010 and safe driving didn't cause any of them. But enough of this, I need to go out and write some tickets.

Drunk driving caused them. Legalize pot!

Stay off of 6th Ave from Kalamath to Wadsworth for your own safety. People drive like bats out of hell in that stretch. It's just as bad on US 36.
I'd hate to be a motorcycle cop on 6th Ave. Way to dangerous.

Newsflash "Weak", driving under the influence of pot constitutes a DUI as well:

CRS 42-4-1301
(e) The fact that any person charged with a violation of this subsection (1) is or has been entitled to use one or more drugs under the laws of this state, including, but not limited to, the medical use of marijuana pursuant to section 18-18-406.3, C.R.S., shall not constitute a defense against any charge of violating this subsection (1).

Like marijuana or hate it, you still can't use and drive. Be safe people.

Scr*w the cops! It's the slow drivers that cause things to be so dangerous, not the fast ones! The pigs think they're so sneaky. Well, I have a radar/laser detector, so I do know when they're out. F*ck you coppers!

Some things, like supposedly literate reporters committing "fifth grader" errors just beg for a few laughs
Maybe the reporter had a rough day and can do better.
Maybe an editor or assistant made the errors.
I don't know, I don't care.
In cases like this story,
I go with what's presented,
not potential
We all make mistakes, and (hopefully) we have the ability and temperment to laugh at ourselves
BTW, snookums,
I haven't missed a ballot since 1972
I've driven well over 3 Million miles in every sort of vehicle from 'cycle to semi -
- last moving violation was in 1978
- ONLY accident was in 1974 (not my fault)
And I've raised or am raising 5 kids - 7 years as a single Dad.
(current ages 36, 28, 20, 8, and 4)
Scary stuff, eh?
Lighten up, have a laugh!(at someone elses expense)
Hopefully, Heidi can too.
Good zinger for snookums AKA CubanounO of Littleton, Sniper, BigZelda69, lite in loafers.
Keep up the fine work!

About the speed enforcement lasers featured on this report; they are manufactured right here in Colorado.... Laser Technology, Inc.

Is this really even news? Someone must have had a slow news day or something. Cops have been using radar and lasers for years and years to enforce speeding laws.

Maybe it's another publicity stunt by the laser gun manufacturer. I wouldn't be surprised if lakewood got a free laser gun to do this story.

Ok so someone was speeding. Why didn't the reporters get a ticket for standing out in traffic to get a story? You worry about slow drivers, what about stopped news vans.

This story just smells bad.
