"If somebody threw a firecracker in that area where the loading dock is going to go, it would echo in my kitchen," said Charles Lorence, a resident on Homeland Avenue. "The sound would bounce off the building." Two things Mr. Lorence, fireworks are not legal in the City of Whittier, and what are you doing in the kitchen? That is a womans place. What's the matter with you? I know the city wants to inconvience every one attempting to get into the parking lot because of the zanies on Homeland. They already have the largest "Not A Through Street" sign I have ever seen, but now they don't want legal U turns in front of "their" street. Someone at the city with a spine needs to tell them it is "our" street, and "we" will use it in any legal fashion we desire. If you make it difficult for shoppers to get in the way they want, they will go elsewhere. Just look at the crap bit of planning that went into the Fresh and (not so) Easy at Painter.

Whittier and the rest of Califorina are going to be needing plenty of these stores because in Arizona you will find them on every corner. So since most of the Hispanics will be moving there you will need them Good Luck.

The Fresh and Easy is a let-down. Their pet food aisle is actually larger than their fresh vegetables - WTF?!?! And, we want to put another corporate "Farmers Market" in Whittier?
Sprouts will suck more Whittier dollars out of the city. We all ought to support our local "real" farmers market.

Just exactly what is the Council's idea of Whitter Blvd "specific plan"? Try figuring out what your going to do with all the empty car lots, wasn't that in your "specific plan"? It seems to change all the time. Maybe you need to hire ANOTHER consultant AGAIN about Whittier Blvd or maybe Mr Helvey,(the million dollar employee) can give us his insight before he retires. Better yet, hire him as a consultant for that after he retires for good. Whittier City Council, please enlighten us with your "specific plan". What else do you plan on doing to bring the city to look half way decent? Does anyone ever drive below Whittier Blvd? Lower Whiiter Blvd looks ten times worse that above Whiiter Blvd. What about that?

Sprouts rocks! I don’t care what others say, I am so happy that we are getting a Sprouts in Whittier. Their produce is amazing and their staff is so kind and caring. I used to live in San Diego and i did 95% of my shopping there. It is a great store. Also their prices beat Vons and Albertsons. Sprouts is great produce and great prices.
