Let me guess, the shots were intended for a gang member that lived in the house.

What was the kid doing awake and outside at midnight?

Or maybe the family is new to the neighborhood and just didn't know better. Yea right.

Wow still some people still don't care when an innocent boy died. He had nothing to do with anything. He was outside his home in a gated apartment. I know that because my friends live there I use to be there all the time being outside late night just talking. RIP

I don't think anyone was involved in a gang. It is just a regular family that lives inside that apartment.

Gang members believe they own the night. Anyone outside at night in a bad neighborhood is putting themselves in danger. You wouldn't go swimming in a lake with crocodiles in it, would you?

These gangsters need to go rot with the devil. Sorry, that sounds evil, but I HATE gangsters. They take other innocent people's lives without thinking about it. What horrible a-holes.

There are no residences near 8200 Somerset Blvd. No apartments, no homes. There are only industrial buildings. The shooting occured most likely at Village Park. Where no one should be hanging out at midnight.

I looked at Google Maps, there are some ghetto looking apts and houses on the north side of Somerset, mixed in with equally ghetto commercial dev. No way would I be standing around there late at night. Might as well paint a big target on me.

I live a few blocks from the shooting. There are NO apartments or homes on that street between Lakewood and Downey ave.

I can't imagine my 14 year old son outside at midnight, especially in a crummy neighborhood. How many kids are killed each year by gangs in Long Beach? As a parent my kid would be under lock down and inside the house by dark. Seems like russian roulette to let your kid outside as we did when we were young. I live in a better neighborhood in LB, but I believe it could easily happen here also. My kids will not have the freedoms I had as a kid.

8200 block is between Paramount and Downey Boulevards, near the intersection of Somerset @ Georgia Ave.

@troubles

If you really loved someone wouldn't you want to spell it out, rather than just texting them with the minimalist "ily"
