Great these murderers are caught! They should get the maximum sentence so they can't hurt any other innocent people. I salute the investigative work that led to the arrest of these thugs.
Something must be done to stop these crime sprees that are going on in the communities. The youth today can not enjoy being young, when there are insensitve thugs, carrying weapons, not carrying for human lives. Whose raising these animals?
These parents must be held accountable!

how are the parents responsible for what a kid now days does, its not like when i was a kid in the 50's back then your parents could beat the hell out of you and you grew up to know right from wrong, now days if you even look at your kid the wrong way you can get busted for child abuse. so yes its the parents fault for not wailing on your kid upside their head with a stick when they screw up.

I live in an apartment complex with lots of kids. When we moved in they were young but now most are in their teens. We have watched some of these good kids turn into thugs and others turn into well rounded kids with a good head on their shoulders. What is the difference? Every single one that has taken a bad turn does not have a dad at home. Every single good kid has both parents. This is not so much about discipline as it is having the right role model in the home. This is where our country is going in the dumps (though I do admit discipline or the lack of it has a big role to play too).

I agree...however...

Having been a single parent for close to 20 years, I can say from experience that one parent can raise a strong, decent adult.

It takes more time, more patience and more discipline and more sacrifice sometimes, but it is do-able.

It is do-able but the odds are unfortunately against you. Glad you beat the odds. I have the utmost respect for single parents. Their job is tough. I just wish deadbeat parent realize how their selfishness hurts the kids they brought into this world.

I raised 3 children by myself. When my twins were 2 months old, my ex-husband turned to drugs. He became a thug. I kicked him out and decided that I would go it alone. My 3 children are now ALL professionals. Not one has ever been to jail. I do agree with you that children need role models. But I can't agree with you that they need both parents.(or the father) But on the other hand, my ex has been in and out of prison now for 28 years, and I believe that he was a perfect role model for my kids. He taught them what happens when you screw up. He is now currently out of prison and working for my son.(my son is a plumbing contractor)

Sometimes the best role model, is the worst parent. Role model in what NOT to do with your life.

Kudos to those of you single parents who have raised successful kids. It's no easy task!

OK, put away the hate and ask yourselves why do these things happen so often in America. And why more and more in the last 20-25years?

Once you can identify that you can start coorectingthe problem.

I say part of it is what happens at home, violence in the media, lousy schools, judges who don't sentence properly and a weak voting public.

Well you are right times have changed. However you begin raising your children when they are young, and when they become are older you have less problems. I believe that most teens that grow up to become productive adults did so with the help of good parents or guardians.
My husband and I took parenting as a responsibility, with an obligation to provide the skills necessary to our children, so that they will respect others and become productive citizens in society. This does not require alot of money, it just requires a personal commitment from parents. Sure there are times when a child may stray, but most cases when provided with the basics they will come back to what they were taught.

And doo't forget single moms who bring home strange men so their kids can be more traumatized.

Too bad it didn't happen in Torrance. That little boy suspect could be looking "hard" in a casket instead of court.

It must be nice to live in an area where law enforcement apprehends and brings murderers to justice in a timely manner. Way to go...

I have seen good kids come from a single parent home. I have seen kids with two parents go bad. It is discipline and parenting skills that make the diffence not whether there is one or two parents. Unfortunately the new way it to no discipline your kids. That is the problem. Heaven forbid if we say no to our kid!

WHAT?! Did you read the story? He shot people at a gathering. What is this crap about driving and having fun? Read the story in the archive section he opened fire on innocent people. He knowingly shot people, so yes he deserved the death penalty!
