Take em' out behind the courthouse and shoot them in the head. Society doesn't need anymore scumbags. Nice job of parenting again in Long Beach...

Is it terribile to mention that almost every gang related or other type murder in this city ,almost every time, shows a picture of a Black person as the perp, or a Hispanic? How do the black citizens feel about that? I can't sat for sure if it's the reality, but I am guessing the real stats will support that. Do blacks and hispanics accept responsibility for it, and are they embarresed by it? Sorry to offend, but it's a serious question about who's doing the killing around here.

they're going to prison for the rest of their lives.... one looking at a death sentence. GOOD. that's where they belong. SENSELESS!! i feel for the victims families.

it's sad but the stats support your claim. but i'm sure white folks are involved in there somewhere. everyone plays a part in senseless violence. i don't think blacks/hispanics could bring guns to the streets on their own. yes... i do think that white folks are the ones with easier access to weapons and they do distribute as well. some legally and some not. all the gun shops i've been to are white owned/operated. i bet most of the people that are in the import/export business to smuggle illegal firearms are white. you can't say it's a race thing. i say poor parenting.... and child social services!!! you need to give your kids a good beating the minute they start to act up at an early age. if you wait too long, good luck. poor parenting is in every race. it's not just blacks and hispanics that are sitting in prison. whites and asians have a heavy presence there as well. |

poor parenting is everywhere. no need to single out LB. |

it pisses me off that at the hearing ppl are rolling their eyes saying their gonna kick OUR butts and starting drama with the families!!! WE ARE VERY VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOST BUT WE DID NOT PULL THE TRIGGER! NEITHER DID WE SUPPLY THEM WITH THE GUN! MAKING COMMENTS OUT LOUD ABOUT WISHING THEY ROTT IN HELL THERES NO NEED FOR NONE OF THAT! WE TRUELY UNDERSTAND THE PAIN CAUSE THAT WAS US A FEW MONTHS AGO IN THAT COURT ROOM WANTING JUSTICE FOR SOMEONE WE LOST! BUT GUESS WHAT WE TALKED TO THE GUYS FAMILY HUGGED THEM AND EVERYTHING WE KNOW THAT IT WASNT THEIR FAULT!!! WE CANT TAKE OUR ANGER OUT ON EACH OTHER WHAT IS THAT GOING TO SOLVE? ANOTHER FAMILY WILL JUST BE RIGHT BACK IN THE COURT DOING WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW! SO PLZ JUST STOP WE WANT JUSTICE AND FOR ALL THIS TO END ALSO!

MY HEART GOES OUT TO BOTH SIDES, THE VICTIMS AND THE ACCUSERS. I HAVE FOUR KIDS OF MY OWN AND WOULD'NT WANT TO SEE THEM ON EITHER SIDE. BECAUSE IN THIS CASE EVERYONE'S LIFE HAS BEEN TAKEN. FOLLOW THIS CASE AS THEY PROCEED, THEY'RE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.

EVERYONE IN THIS CASE ARE VICTIMS. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE DECEASE TEENS AND THE TEENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE FACING. PLEASE BE FAIR AND FOLLOW THE TRIAL BEFORE CONVICTING THE YOUNG MEN. THIS IS SO SAD PEOPLE.

If the people in court are the ones that killed the two people, I fail to see how they are victims.
We have started to see people talk about the suspects as nice people who would never do this type of thing (how many times have we heard that before they were convicted, and even after). Pretty soon we will have people commenting about how they were saint like. If the are found guilty, they should get the death penalty. I am willing to wait to see the outcome of the trial but I am willing to bet my paycheck that these two are anything but a victim in this.

In our city most of the gang related homicides are committed by minorities, whether they be black, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander. That is a fact and is not in dispute.
Most of their victims are also minorities, most but not all are gang members or affiliated with gang members. Unfortunately, like in this instance, sometimes innocent victims get caught in the middle of this gang nonsense and we have these discussions. I can not comment on this case specifically other than to hope that justice is done. Our process however is not swift, so for those who do not want to relive this for the next six months to a year, good luck. The fastest way for this to end is for the guilty to admit their involvement and face their punishment. I am not holding my breath. After the money is spent for trials and appeals, IF they are found guilty, they should serve whatever sentence is handed down. Their families won't like it, I know I wouldn't, but this the price we pay for the gang culture. This is not just about the boys on trial, but the society as a whole. Their punishment (IF found guilty) is also about protecting society from them for however long their sentence is. Hopefully it will deter others from engaging in similar activity, but sadly, there are still far too many who will ignore this lesson. While there may be plenty of indirect blame to go around, the ultimate responsibility lies with the person who provided the gun, and the person who pulled the trigger, time and time again. This was no accident. Every intentional pull of that trigger was an opportunity to kill someone. That was the choice made that night, and now the consequences of that choice will be thrust upon them...IF they are guilty. |

Actually they are PRESUMED innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. There is a huge difference, and it is not just semantics. A lot of people believe and treat OJ as guilty even though he was acquitted in his criminal trial. As well as Robert Blake, and Phil Specter..to name a few highly publicized incidents. There are FAR more people who are simply not able to be successfully prosecuted, for what ever reason, than we ever hear about. It doesn't change the mind or opinion of those who suffered the loss of a loved one.
They were presumed innocent and found not guilty...even in that there is a difference...innocence is presumed while guilt must be proven...in a court of law. To say they are innocent is just as prejudicial and premature as declaring them guilty. There is a reason they were arrested and charged...that alone could serve as reason to sway some people...factually speaking, the vast majority of people arrested and charged, are guilty of the crime. And that is guilt as determined by the court system. |

Why is the guy jonzell facing death and he did not know that the guy had a guy he is just a innocent guy. But I understand that he was driving and all, I think that he deserve to serve a little time so that he will learn a lesson for that. And he truely give his heart out to the 2 victim family he is sorry.

Don't do the crime....if you can't do the time.
i'm so tired of hearing liberal pukes making excuses for criminal behavior. The cycle of violence will continue as long as parents and so called community activists keep making excuses for their children. |
|
There is certainly some truth to that. |

Why not single us out? Apparently we're proud of the misfits that are being produced here in Gangtown By the Sea. In many cases the parents are as bad or even worse than their brats. It's our own damn fault for letting things get to this point. Serves us right. |

Very well written and very clearly explained. Thanks, Mathias D, for posting it. Perhaps it will do some good. |
