Formerly from Sandusky, I also have to suggest checking out Toft's Dairy for great ice cream - be sure to order a small because their portions are huge. Also worth checking out: Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Jefferson Avenue downtown - it's the one with the tallest steeple and is absolutely beautiful inside. A few blocks away you will see three churches at one corner - all made from limestone. There is a great boutique chocolate shop on the corner of Monroe and Columbus downtown. And lastly, don't forget the wineries - Firelands Winery, close to Margaritaville Restaurant on the west side, offers self-guided tours. Hermes Winery is on Rt 4 as you head into Sandusky.
