As a bicycle commuter, that looks like a dangerous place to be.

Yeah, MN drivers are in a panic when they see a cyclist on the road. Another indication that MN drivers aren't very adept. This guy sounds like he might have been a bit too old to be pedaling in a busy area.

SHARE THE ROAD WITH CYCLISTS!
Unbelievable

I don't mind sharing the road with cyclists who OBEY THE TRAFFIC LAWS! If anyone saw the news report on those cyclists who think they can do what they want, guess again...just as a car has to stop for a sign so do you! There are too many "Lance Armstrong" wanna-be's out there who think they are excempt from the laws. The two sad parts about it are,#1. Those who do follow the laws get grouped into the idiots and #2. The vehicles who hit these wanna-be's are the ones who suffer.

My thoughts and prayers go out to both families in this instance. It's a bad area to be riding in but also a blind area for vehicles because of the traffic load.

Might I remind you that the report says that he was biking on the shoulder of the road, an acceptable place for a bike to be, not-so-much for a car.
As for the Texan who's very worked up about the bikes, please don't come up here and drive..

Vehicle drivers are going to have to pay more attention on the road. Most bikers and motorcyclists are paying attention. Not sure of what happened here but....Motorcycles and bicycles are out there, and ridership is probably only going to increase as gas prices go up. Why can't we all get along on the road? My best to both...

Hey pal, go hang with Teddy for awhile and see if his condition is contagious. I can only hope so for the likes of you.

According to state law, bicycle ARE vehicles. They have full use of the road.
