Interesting article but what is the benefit of this position being brought back? I did ask and was told that they are the one who takes the heat for the sheriff or his fall guy. Not sure about that but it sure seems like a good idea for Rivero to get those who had voted for Baxter. It's a cleaver move. Wish him luck in the upcoming election!

Mitchell was surprised and disappointed, I'll bet. Baxter could take Perdock's position or Garzolli's or any of the other disgraced officers.

For sale or trade, 1 slightly used endorsement. This is a one time offer and it will be gone soon to the highest bidder. Will also consider trading for a cushy management position at the Sheriff's Department.
Please contact Jack Baxter for more information at 1-800-735-5688 (1-800-SELLOUT)

I was asked recently what made anyone think Baxter was qualified to be under sheriff if he was in law enforcement for 38 years and never made it past sergeant. I then had to wonder what makes anyone think Rivero is qualified to become sheriff if he hasn't even made sergeant after multiple attempts.

Progressive thinking. Rivero/Baxter would make a powerful team . They would compliment each other with their experiences. Win win situation to benefit the County immensely.

The Sheriff Mitchell's opponent can offer Mr Baxter this position, but it is ultimately up to the BOS. All the opponent wants is to use poor Mr Baxter to get elected, then he will drop him like a hot potato. He doesnt want an undersheriff. He just wants Jacks' votes.
It is really quite sad that the Jack actually believes what is being offered, which in turn leads one question Jack's judgement.

This is Rivero's slimey attempt to score Baxter's votes... nicely done Frank... I pray the county doesn't fall for it. As for Jack saying only one candidate was willing to listen to him, I'm sure that translate to... only one candidate was willing to offer me a powerful position in the Sheriff's Department. Way to sell out Jack Baxter, you and Frank are disgusting.

thats what I'm talkin about. Baxter/Rivero would be a great team. This is exactly what we need to bring the LCSO back on track. These to compliment each other and have alot of the same ideas. Put them together and watch what they can do! Mitchell for being young sure acts like he is in his older yrs. by not embracing such change! Good Luck Mr. Rivero and I am with you on this one!

Being inclusive is a good idea. Getting back our undersheriff is a great idea! I think we traded our last one in for an APC ;).

Maybe Mirchell can call Tom Marshall and ask him to be undersheriff?

This is Rivero, backhandedly saying he is not qualified and he needs someone with real experience to carry him. And Baxter has the swing votes. Hold out for Emperor, Jack.

This is basically buying Baxter's votes.

Disgusting.

Rivero just lost my vote.

An obvious ploy to get Baxter's supporters to vote Rivero. I voted for Baxter and am now left having to chose between the lesser of two evils. This ploy has not swung my vote towards Rivero as a matter of fact the sliminess of it may have just done the opposite.

Wow Penny - you sure don't give the Baxter voters any credit for independant thinking do you? I'm betting they ARE independant minded and will vote their conscious. Just as you are.

So like two-thirds of this article was Baxter's opinion? Wow, and he's not even running any more. I did enjoy reading his neutrality of not naming a candidate he endorses (unless you read between the lines at his not very subtle statements).

As far as Rivero trying to get Baxter's voters: duh. That's what candidates do, it's normal politics that you try to expand your base to increase your own votes. It's like when a presidential candidate picks his vp from a different region or ideology - so more votes can be obtained to win. I don't see it as "slimy". Also, perhaps Rivero sees more eye-to-eye with Baxter and would like his help in reforming the Sherrif's Department, which I imagine will be quite a task.

Wow Rod - you must be really worried to drag KKKLint out with that tired old meme. Careful what you wish for KKKlint - perhaps YOU'RE here due to anchor baby status from a long time ago.
