Until our City is cleaned up, over grown with weeds, garbage, trash, junk cars, etc etc, all the advertising and visitor centers are a waste of time and money.
Coming into town via Olympic drive is a shameful disgrace. Our streets are rough and full of pot holes and patches.
Maybe if our streets were smooth and free of garbage along the ditches, perhaps clean flowered yards and freshly painted homes (NOT MOBILS). Our community could be more inticing to visiters. Even Highway 53 is unsightly with all the food wrappers and plastic bags cought up in the brush on the banks.
Why are we not seeing local prisoners out along the highway doing garbage detail.

One street that first comes to mind is Jefferson Drive. There are some vaccant lots on the East side of the street, strewn with old christmas trees, car seats even an old car. The weeds get 2 feet tall and stay that way all year. Nothing is ever don about the situation.

We need to clean up our town before people will decide to spend any time here.

This message is for Judy Thein. I want to thank you for standing up for our community reference GSW request for rate increases. GSW has the highest prices for water in Lake County. Wouldn't it be nice if it were a competitive market. I have lived in Lake County in excess of 15 years. It was always easy to vote. I voted for anyone that wasn't in office. Judy Thein, you are what this county/city is looking for. Roy Simons, you are the type of person that I do not want to represent me or my family.

Poop in the yard. But by Mount Konocti.
Let there be no road improvements or other quality of life issues.
By the pyramid buy Mount Konocti.
Who cares were the money is taken from buy Mount Konocti.
Poop in the yard of everyone in Lake County but by Mount Konocti.
What is so great about Mount Konocti outside of lining the Fowler families inherted Heirs pockets.
They came from the right inbred loins.
But buy Mount Konocti.
Who will visit it?
But buy Mount Konocti.
Isn't this a real piece of dung like.
Fornicating for Virginity.
But buy Mount Konocti?

I was just in the town of Clearlake Highlands...passin thru where i grew up as a i'm 49...and there is nothing in this town that would attract anyone to come here.
There is nothing to go and do...all the mom and pop stores were shurttered when the town council thought bringing in WALMART was a good idea. The only thing in town is Compassin shops where pipes and smokin papers can be bought for the smokin of the sometimes illegal weed. Which by the way is what the locals grow in ...everywhere. The local kids have no where to go, nothing to do,therefore many get into trouble. Which escalates from that point on. I was told that you can't swim in the lake because it's polluted...if i'm wrong correct me,on any of the issues i have mentioned.
With Konocti Harbor up for sale..(still)if it is not bought this year 2008 by someone wanting to throw tons of $ into it. There will be changes,
such as no outside is outragious for these events...therefore closing the whole establishment is another option. As the Plumbers union that owns it cannot afford to hold on to this jewel any longer. If this resort closes
another reason not to come to Lake county, unless your coming to spend $ in the local casino's which benifit the local indians..not the local goverment.
Like they say 'Come to Lake county on vacation...leave on probation'.

The roads in Clearlake are horrid, there are no places for kids to be productive our lake is unuseable. You can't swim in the water you can't eat the fish the smell in the summer is horendence and one reason being that our council is to greedy our waters could be cleaned but no we want to charge them to come in and clean it wtf is that! Let them clean it if they want to! If we do not clean this place up there will be no tourism there for no money! Stop bickering between eachother and come together as a team make some productive decisions to make our Counties attractive once again!

Now as far as our kids uggg all I see around are thugs wearing there pants to there knees "indecent exposure" shoud be applied there! There drug houses that are so obvious yet they don't seem to do a thing about them. I watch one everyday on the corner of Napa & Lakeshore and yes the cops have been told yet nothing.. My GF got attacked by a man here in town cops never took photos or followed up with her even though she called weekly it was just dropped! So what exactly are our cops for?

CLEAN THIS PLACE UP!!! or there will be NOTHING left but drugies and tweekers left!
Probation office

When the good folks of Lower Lake put up a fuss(as they should have) about a probation office in downtown LL, the BOS quickly decided to re locate the office..........into Clearlake.
I appreciate the effort to open a dialogue between the Council/BOS, but let's face it.
The BOS does the City NO favors.
We (Clearlake) are the largest population center in Lake County, however, we enjoy very little in regard to Lake County's financial resources.
The only way for that situation to change is for the city to speak in a unified voice in the same way that LL's good folks did with the probation office.
Not a peep from Clearlake on that the office will be located wherever the BOS decides it will be.

The office will be located at the corner of State Hwy 53/Lakeshore drive(on Moss ave).
Not a horrible choice(unless you live across the street).
Supe Smith said that the location may mean jobs for local folks.....but, I understand that they hired a former LCSO guy to do the job.
Probably not from Clearlake. Maybe the secretary will be from Clearlake?
