Lake County could become the state model for quagga mussel prevention. Recently the Lake County Board of Supervisors replaced the Quagga Mussel Task Force with a new committee called the Lake County Invasive Species Council, which is headed by Kelseyville's Greg Giusti.

From the Great Lakes to Clear Lake, these mussels are making a home here in the states. And it seems like it’s a small problem, but from the information available these mussels are making big trouble especially with water delivery systems. Hopefully boaters and anglers will take the warnings seriously and check their boats every time they pull their boats out of the lake. This video clip explains the problem pretty well: .
