The Butler Family extend it's love and empathy to Hugh Tuberville. We thank him for not only his tramendous support to our father Robert Butler over the years but, to all the family.

His collection included paintings by Robert Butler Sr, Robert Butler Jr, Daniel Butler, Dorene Butler, David Butler and Sam Butler. some of the works were created when the Children were 16-18 years old.
What should have been a year spent in jubilant celebration of his fortieth career anniversary and release of his book “American Original”; has instead become a solemn moment amid a life that has touched the far corners of the globe. Butler still plans to release his life’s story along with a picture chronology of his paintings this year, but it will be a year spent in memory of a history once lived on the frontlines of american graffiti!...a year marked by the unforgettable agony of irretrievable lost…… a year of stunning changes.

I have a beautiful painting that was called "Old Florida" and someone told me it was painted by the highwaymen. Upon closer inspection, it was signed by David Butler. I could not find a thing about David Butler until this article. How wonderful it is knowing it was painted by Robert Butlers son while still in his teens.
