I am a single mother of a 1st grader and a 6th grader and am thinking about buying in Clover or Lake Wiley area. Anyone have pros and/or cons about this area? Schools and good neighborhoods to live? Any input would be appreciated.

It is a great area. Clover is obviously a bedroom community of Charlotte. You are able to get a small town feeling, yet you are close enough to the city to have access to a variety of entertainment venues. Property in Clover is much more affordable than it is in places such as Ft. Mill. As for the school system, it is amazing. Clover has one of the top districts in the state of SC. Our students are academically competitive on a state and national level. I think you will be very pleased with what you find here.

We are transplants to Clover from Myrtle Beach. We have an 8th grader and a Kindergartner. We have been here 4 years...and LOVE IT! Very friendly, safe, small town feel with access to Charlotte and all it's ammenities. Excellent schools in both academics and athletics. This really is a wonderful place to raise a family, the best decision we made was to move to this area. Good luck!!!

PS If you're in the area and looking for a church home....Carolina Baptist Church in town is wonderful and has tons of children/youth activities!

Thank you so much for your input. Recently retired and moved back home to Mount Pleasant to raise my children and found that it is very expensive here. Have been looking for that small town feel and came across Clover and Lake Wylie area. Now all I have to do is look for a college near there for me as I am continuing my education and find a nice place to buy. Oh yeah almost forgot - IS there Cub Scouts in Clover?

Yes, there are Cub Scouts in Clover. If you are looking to continue your own education, there are several places you could look into. Winthrop Univ. is in Rock Hill, SC which is very close by, USC is only about an hour and a half away, UNC Charlotte is about an hour away, plus there are several smaller colleges in the area. I think you will really like Clover.

I am a single father who relocated from California to York (I'm actually between York and Clover) and I love it! Cost of living is good and it is very quiet and peacefull. The people are also great around here and everyone seems to get along with most anybody.

My husband and I moved here from New Jersey back in 2003. We thought our school systems were very good. Come to find out that Clover schools were 1 year ahead of where my children were so they had alot of catching up to do.
I absolutely love Clover. The schools are the best and its a very small town with alot of warm people. I highly recomend it if you dont mind traveling a bit to get to a mall or major shopping. That is the only con I can say.
