Barrier-free parks planned for disabled in Wellington

Disabled children in Wellington could one day have a park where wheelchairs or crutches won't keep them off the playground or away from their friends.

Right!! We don't need to pay for your kids education also. You made then, you educate then. Stop the waste.

I see this as a terrific first step in helping kids expand friendships, learn about disabilities and give those kids with diabilities a better chance to enjoy parks. Bravo, Wellington!

Yes, this is a Great idea, but where is the land for this park?

Will it be another scheme to fool the Wellington residents that land purchased will be used for a college instead of a park?

The council, elected by the people, have forgotten the purpose of this community. They are focused on business and THEIR aspirations. What they think is needed....GIVING K park for a college, selling off more K park land for commercial use (already sold off a parcel to a company whose VP was Benacquisto's campaign manager)

Hmmm..Benacqusito seems to be pushing all these changes first Equestrian Shoppes on Southshore, then Sunrise buying 5 acres of K park and now GIVING away K park.

These people are out of touch with the community.

Council people need to break out of their tight circle and find out what the entire community wants...not just their associates, their dinner buddies, their exercise buddies, their "gala" buddies, riding buddies and special groups want...what about the average guy and gal in Wellington? How do they feel about all this giving, selling off of park land and changing of the Wellington charter (beware residents the council will try to INCREASE your taxes with the charter change!!)

The people speaking IN SUPPORT of the community college being built on K park land are people who were appointed by the council. It's their tight circle of associates not the "lowly" everyday working residents of Wellington.

The council has lost touch. The Village is no more. Watch out residents these council members are changing the face of the village.

Has the village cut your taxes? Has the village cut back? Has the village stop hiring consultants? Has the village shown that they are sympathetic to homeowners?

NO...it's a land giveaway and the potential of INCREASING YOUR TAXES with a charter change. WAtch carefully, they'll do it be alert!
