Some people leave horrible comments on here. Don't be rude. He didn't think he would get swallowed in by the grinder or he wouldn't have done it. It was just a panicked moment where common sense took a back burner to try to save a animal in need. What a horrifc way to die for both the man and the puppy. God rest his soul.

This is very sad and I feel sympathy for the family.
But for God's sake secure all the animals before using power tools! This is just basic "Tools 101" type common sense.

Guys.... woods.... dogs..... tree cutting. I bet there was a fair amount of beer, too.

just senseless.

um...no one thought of shutting OFF the power to the grinder? At least when the dog's leash got tangled?

Sad and pathetic...good grief!

But I'm sorry, chalk it up to Darwin and his theory of natural selection!

Once you turn these machines off they take about 3 minutes to totaly stop winding down, so it would not have helped.

that must have been one disgusting scene. Very sad, but not too bright, turn off the machine before reaching in.
