I've known Larry as an Antioch Businessman for years. I admire and respect his never-ending dedication to our Village and he always seems to maintain focus in regard to responsible fiscal management.

Yes I am, and with the entire board except Trustee Dominiak. She is a smart woman who means well i am sure but she needs to learn to not talk down to others. There is a good team there. She should try harder to be part of it instead of acting like she has all the answers and is never wrong.

His future may depend on the ARS. He seems a little too close to Wayne and has not stood up for the village, almost looks like he has something to hide. One has to wonder why.

I think he is doing an excellent job. Agree that a tougher stance on ARS would have helped a bit, but in the final analysis, the seven members of the Board got it right. I like the fact that he encourages communication, works with his board, and is always available.

The reason I said that is because I have been to the meetings. I must wonder why you have such a smart ass answer to a persons opinion. Who is Mary Gaborek? Word is that she is running for Mayor. What is her background? What are her qualifications? What is her platform? What are her solutions? Is she another well intended but vicious and incompetent person with no management experience like former Mayor Larson, or someone who needs no Trustee or other business management experience to run the Village? Debunker Center looks forward to answers to those crucial questions.

Debunker Center looks forward to answers to those crucial questions. She's a loser like the old board with ties to Dorothy Larson--she would definitely be a step in the wrong direction if she got elected. She would try to bring Antioch back to where it was instead of where it is today. I will definitely not vote for her and Dominiack who thinks her sh** doesn't stink needs to go to.

I agree with all of that. I hear she has the Republican Club behind her. Same ones that endorsed a high school kid for mayor. Also hear that connected at the hip Pederson, Osmond, and Dominiak are behind her. That aline gets her my no vote, and I am a lifelong Republican. The ATRC are a bunch of disorganized goofs who can't get out of the 1980's in regard to managing Antioch. By the way, I heard Gaborek spent her life as a Democrat. If true, it's crazy the ATRC is supporting her. We live in a democracy. Everyone should have their chance, but I personally will not vote for dreamers. We have one in DC that is killing the country. We don't need another one here. We need competent people running the town, not egotistical wannabes that have nothing to offer except bringing Kohls to town (Gaboraks pet project when she was a paid lobbyist for Antioch Matketplace, which thanks to her actions and incompetent mayor would have cost taxpayers $23 million if the economy not have tanked taking the developer out of business). Gaborek wanted your money to fund the Kohls SHE wanted. And now she wants to run the village. I agree. NO WAY.

The question here is what do candidates bring to the table to benefit residents. Lawrence Hanson has made mistakes but overall has been a good Trustee and now Mayor for many years. His administration including the Trustees has, in the last four years, likely saved Antioch from bankruptcy, has increased employee productivity, instituted true capital planning, begun rebuilding the previous near zero balance capital reserve, accomplished numerous capital projects, and hired highly effective new department heads in Administration, Parks and Rec, the AFD, the APD, and Public Works. His administration has also eliminated significant wasteful spending instituted or condoned by previous administrations, welcomed a number of new businesses to town during the worst recession in history, while achieving a balanced budget in 2011-2012. We live in a democracy and anyone can attempt to serve. Accordingly, Mary Geborak is exercising her rights as an American and is to be commended. However, we question why she is running under a mantra of "finally bringing leadership" to Antioch. What specific qualifications does Ms. Gaborek bring to improve upon an already impressive list of accomplishments? Little is known of her background other than that she is an unemployed car salesman. We also understand that she is supported by a small number of Republican activists and three elected officials, one of them a Village official (Mary Dominiak). All three are also members of the activist group Antioch Township Republican Club. We also understand that the candidate was a registered Democrat until 2010, and never voted in an election until she was 40. She also was an active lobbyist for the failed developers of Antioch Marketplace and worked tirelessly to cause a $23 million tax placed on shoppers there, all of which would have gone to the developers and debt service for the developers gift of taxpayer money. More information is needed to make a determination of her ability to be a competent and balanced Mayor. We also note that the Republican Club endorsed a Hugh school student for Mayor in the last election, leading to serious questions about the objectivity and value of their actions. Debunking complete.

Debunking complete. I agree with you 100%. Re-electing Mayor Hanson would keep this village on the right track that its been on and we certainly don't need any detours and electing Ms. Geborak would be a huge mistake.

The question I would ask is #1 What was in the Rt 173 fiasco that Geborak was so involved for, what was she getting out of it. Perhaps a family member was a benifit of all the hopeful new construction , maybe she didn't want to drive to a city (Gurnee) that she was trying to turn Antioch into. And as a final note I total agree WHAT is her qualifaction that she brings ? other than she is over 17 was a 173 lobbyist and she is in lock-step with the other mary.
