I got tagged making a right turn going east on 120 turning right on 12 .light was red i almost came to a complete stop but turned and they caught me this is called a hollywood stop. cost $100 dollars. I admit to the turn but I believe it's a simple money maker for Lakemoor seeing your not even in Lakemoor but Volo. I avoid these lights by going east to Thortons gas station ,pull in get my coffee then pull out on darrel road and go down to Case road head east and make my right turn onto 12 avoiding both red camera lights . If I do go to 12 to turn right at times if I forget I treat the light as a no turn on red ! yes I get a lot of horn hookers behind me but I simply wave and smile. This is how I beat the cameras.

i try to avoid them if possible
sick to death of paying for crap that I shouldnt have to
$100 ticket cause they think you may have not waited 6 seconds to make a turn
its a complete joke

oh yeah, the tollway is even better
missed a toll and forgot to pay online
my 90 cent toll they now want 70.90

if they actually were REASONABLE about these fees and made me pay say $5, i might actually pay it

70 bucks they can sue me
i think 70 in fees for a .90 loan is called something like loansharking

i am sick to death of this state and how we are all being led to the slaughter like sheeple

I think a sheep would be smarter than both of you. It certainly would not bitch and complain as much. If you do something wrong you pay for it and quiet whining. Poor me i broke the law and it is not fair that I got punished. If people today took responsibility for their actions maybe our children would grow up and be productive members of society. Losers

what really sucks is that the toll fees vary as much as they do.
http://www.illinoistollway.com/tolls-and-i-pa...
the other day i jumped on i94 by waukegan $2.80
yet at other spots its only $0.90
Why is one section worth 3 times the cost ?
I feel sorry for strangers to our state trying to figure out our toll costs.
We should get rid of toll roads.
States without tolls make far more tax money off of tourism that we make off of tolls.

LOL, I don't think "Bob" will get it.
It's unfortunate for the citizens in this country that we have gotten so accustomed to these "fees" that we just accept it. Any other business or institution that operated in the manner that some of our govermental agencies do would be brought up on criminal charges.
It's people like "Bob" that think paying $100 for a minor infraction, or $70 for a late fee is acceptable and A OK, that allow the business as usual attitudes of our government to continue.

that is an excellent point.
If ANY branch of government or government agency was in the private sector they would go out if business in a heartbeat.
And nowhere in the private sector does the common worker have such lifetime benefits, insurance, job security, pay scales, vacation & holidays off with pay, and work hours.
Even in small businesses the CEO's, owners, and upper managements don't enjoy such job security.
Its time ALL workers on the taxpayer's dime received the quality of job we have.
The money saved to the taxpayer would go a long way to improving the life of us taxpayers.

Have you people ever listened to yourselves? How sad! Preschool children can tell you what a red light means! Ask a child! Do you have children? Imagine if you catch your child breaking a rule and they say "well I don't like the rule, I ALMOST did what I was suppossed to do." If you have to go out of your way to take a different route because you can't figure out how to obey a red light is that considered "beating the light" as you say? I would say "the light beat you!" I guess it was smarter!

I'm always amazed by guys like you who ask personal questions yet never volunteer any of your own.
Its none of your business if we have children.

But since you mention education let me school you.
Our country was founded by men who refused to accept stupid laws designed to bilk good citizens out of their money.
Even today laws are changed and/or overturned when they seem like a bad idea.
Case in point red light cameras have been removed in the Schamburg area. A clear indication that these cameras are the wrong way to go.

A smart person avoids problems whenever possible. Only an idiot would continue to make the same mistake and drive again and again down a road where they know a bad condition exist for them.

I try to teach my children to stand up for themselves when they are being bullied or if something appears to be absolutely wrong. I certainly will never teach them to accept something as it is if it is wrong. As my mother always said to me, "just because your friend jumped off the bridge, doesn't mean that you do". I will always teach my kids to see the real issue, as in the case of red light cameras. They have nothing to do with safety, and everything to do with making money.

I still think the red light camera is simply a money maker at 120 and 12 I asked for records on the accidents which are usually filed in order to get the red light camera and I did't get even a reply telling me it's a money maker. I admitted my quilt
"back to school" but I still try to avoid these so call money makers and speed traps set up in Lakemoor which is really in volo not Lakemoor. If you want to get a ticket for a simple error ,go ahead I think I have more people agreeing with me then you do !

"Mr Back to School"
I wrote this article to warn other drivers to be aware of this red light camera at route 120 and 12, seeing I'am a pilot I know Red from Green and my education is above a Pre-schooler and maybe at one time you flew on my airplane ! so my Judgement of my surroundings is very acute. If I fly into a storm I try to avoid it just like avoiding this area at 120 and 12 to make my journey a lot easier. Here's the picture,I approached 12 heading east and came upon the red light on the turn to head south on twelve, The traffic that was heading North towards Fox Lake had the green so all traffic turning west on 120 towards Lakemoor started their turn so I made my right turn causing no problem because I didn't have to blend with any Traffic. My stop was not a complete stop of 6 seconds so I got tagged. Your comment made me look like I was color blind ! My eyes are tested on a annual basis and if I was color blind I couldn't fly !Use a little thought when you talk to adults because you never know who your talking to.Also Lakemoor has never furnished me copies of the reason these cameras were installed .I know other villages had them removed because they do cause accidents and yes they are money makers. The person that reviews the tape is being paid $134,000 a year to do this, so imagine how many people are caught. The biggest offense is just what I did , not coming to the complete stop.

thank you to both of you for getting the link posted.
Good article.
Once again it shows how wrong these cameras are.
They DON'T save lives.
Lengthening the yellow would save lives.
These cameras are part of the corruption of politicians looking for money.
They fired only one guy. Yeah right only one guy in that whole company was in on it.
And what about the politicians and those around him who knew.
Just one guy gets fired.
No one goes to jail ?
Meanwhile someone stopping just past the line pays a fine.

just another way to grab more money from the taxpayers

real problem drivers dont even pay
this system is a joke
its a complete set up
reduce the yellow light time and put up a red light camera
nothing to do with safety and everything to do with money, money, money

i am so pissed, i just got another $100 ticket. make sure to stop at the white line for a few seconds. then you have to pull up 5 or 6' so you can see the oncoming traffic.

frustating thing is they sent me to separate tickets for the same incident a few seconds apart. so obviously they're churning these tickets out without even reviewing them. there is enough video they show on mine and i see the next driver do the same thing i did; must be a goldmine for lakemoor.
