Except several denominations now offer gay marriage rites in their churches. UCC for example. By telling them they cannot get married you are violating their right to religious freedom. If they take a vow to their God, in their church, under the direction of their minister then the government has ZERO say in whether or not that is allowable.<quoted text>
Some of us have no agenda, but do respect tradition in society. Gay "marriage" has no place in our society. Civil Unions, which are legally the same, are the only way gays should be allowed to become legal partners. A marriage requires a HUSBAND and WIFE, and gays can't seem to come up with the right combination. It's really not that complicated.
It's OK if you want to start passing laws saying what is and what is not allowed within the churches. Just don't be surprised when your turn comes.
