Why was it not at Lake Villa during National Night Out? Maybe they want Hainesville to buy one?

No one has bought one of these. Lake Villa can use it for at least 2 years. If they like it, then can buy it then. This is the only one of it's kind in the country.

Officers can work on more than one department? Maybe they do and were tired?

It was one of the officers that also work for Hainesville - newspaper says they were released - but still hope they are doing ok.. really smashed up those cars - got to love those high speed chase - many towns don't do them... so now what will they do for vehicles.

Officers should only be allowed to hold one commissioners card - that way they work for one dept and one only - what are these people thinking...

That bike looks so fast that it might just make up for how slow the cop riding it is!!!

Maybe if the police department paid cops more, they wouldn't need another job to try make ends meet.

Well, does this not true for all people? I am sure Hainesville will pay more and more and lets not give any thought to any of the residents in that SMALL TOWN..... rack em up

Both of the Lake Villa Officers are part-time Hainesville officers. Most (if not all) police departments have a chase policy where they essentially only chase if it is a matter of life and death. And I don't think a car spinning its tires and taking off fast from a stop light is life or death. I agree they should have followed, but when the offender made the U-turn, the officers ended up hitting each other causing major damage. Can Hainsville afford such a costly mistake? The answer is no. If we lost 2 police cars in an accident, we wouldn't have any (unless you count the 1950's version parked behind the village hall).
