Now isn't that a coincidence! The heat is definitely on....Edgell is arrested, Sobczak is retiring and the next announcement we'll hear is Steve Smouse is stepping down. Yep, all the misconduct, mismanagement, stealing and cover-ups are all catching up with them and rightly so. What's next in Antioch???

Now just rid of Dekind, he's as big of a goofball as Wayne and Steve were. Oh, and just FYI for everyone, Wayne retired. Which means according to ARS bylaws, he can still fnction as a Paramedic on the department and run calls. Im sure he will be pulling Dekinds strings from off stag as well for a while.

I say this with true sincerity, I know I will get a bunch of nasty comments, but why is there such hatred of the Rescue Squad. I have met some of these men you talk about and have not seen the devil horns all are talking about. These are volunteers that are helping our community. Now, for the ones that broke the law, good riddance, let the courts deal with them and send them on there way, but why is there such a hatred of this group of volunteers? What has caused this issue, is it personality conflicts, political issues, what?

From the outside looking in, I think it's more of the "Old Antioch" versus "New Antioch" battle. Old Antioch (ie, those who lived here when the town was small, multi-generational if you will) really hates "New Antioch" (the influx of settlers from the subdivision developments).
I could most definately be wrong tho. I'd love to see an honest, non-confrontational response.

I'm from the outside looking in too.
But I think it all steams from all the illegal criminal activity that has been going on.
Something like that really destroys the trust and faith people have in those who are suppose to be keeping people safe.
Then all you have left is confusion.

I hope good people come forward and put things right.

ARS can be a great department with the right leadership, problem is until the village steps in, they will continue to self govern and do what they want. It's time to get someone in there who will begin working with other agencies, instead of against them.
