For the love of god please bring back traffic police to solve the traffic problem at route 120, Hainesville and route 134. Every problem does not have to be solved with a lot of money and new technology. 2 officers out there could help put this long standing traffic problem to an end. Not to say how much money it could save over other answers to the problem. With officers already being paid. Where does it say that police have to stop directing traffic anymore? Not to mention that a police officer is usually sitting on the side of the road tapping on his phone most days anyways. This would be a great way for officers to engaged the community. Protect and serve doesn't mean out 24/7 pulling people over and looking for the big bust. Most people are just driving around being free in America living their daily lives. Try it out for a month see how it works. comments?

Are you talking during school hours at Prairieview . I thought that the police were doing that at the time the school buses are leaving in the morning and afternoon. If your talking at other times then maybe we should talk to thd Mayor or somebody in the village hall. Or maybe go further and make an appointment with the police chief for Grayslake. Tell him the residents concerns and see if he can help with some ideas!

Why in the world cant they put a right turn late at Hainesville? They repave, repave, repave yet cant seem to do anything to actually relieve some of the congestion here. Its ridiculous.

Actually it might be more effective to go to a Grayslake School Board meeting and raise your concerns during the public comment item on the agenda. Should the district pay for an officer to be at the school more than just when busses are arriving and leaving? The school board can answer that question for you. The answer they give you can then open a dialog at a Village of Hanesville Trustees Meeting. This is a safety issue and it is about time that it was discussed. Good luck!

Pretty sure that the intersection of 120 and 134 is not in the Grayslake school district.

This is an old problem getting worse. When the school was built no one spoke to anyone locally about traffic issues. The timing of the the lights all the way from Waukegan to the end of 120 is controlled by IDOT. A demand for a traffic engineering study needs to be submitted. If you think its bad now.. Washington at Hainesville to Cedar Lake will be shut down completely in the next few weeks for a t least a few weeks rerouting down Hainesville south. The light at Hainesville and 120 should have a manual control box, probably at the corner that can be controlled when needed, rush hour, school days, events etc...it's also my understanding that the Village has a police liaison that attends board meeting and or relevant meetings where concerns and discussions about solutions and public information and education is a great venue...

I have feeling the village board in Hainesville will say if its school related talk to school board not us. Just like they probably say if its road safety talk to Lake County DOT , or IDOT , it's not the villages problem and we don't have the monetary resources to fix it, " NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA PLEASE" !
