I agree with you, but so did the Board. Also, Scamburg couldn't put two syllables together much less two sentences, so I concede on the point that you are one and the same. His absense must be coincidental and due to breaking his parole constraints.

The problem is, it was NEVER about that, although the hacks and CAP hangars on would like to make that case. We had a Mayor thinking outside the box (for a refreshing change) trying to take advantage of equipment that would have been nearly a gift to the Village while providing a place for residents to work out instead of having to leave town. It was a noble, if not somewhat naive idea. I give the guy credit for sticking his neck out, knowing full well that there would be people pointing fingers, and for a Board of Trustees who after a hard look, politely and gently said NO NO and hell NO. It's all about checks and balances folks. We finally have them, and that is good for you and me. No more back room orders from CAP headquarters with the CAP zombies marching out with their drool cups in hand to vote.

Thinking outside the box is fine, when it would actually help the village. Maybe the village should go buy all those houses that are currently for sale at "gift" prices. He can go ahead and stick his neck out but I'd hope he'd use some common sense when he wants to stick the town's neck out. You're obviously not for checks and balances or you wouldn't be ripping on the CAP members and counting down all the one's that have left. Obviously, when a new party comes in, most of the old party is not going feel too welcome. That's politics! Unfortunately, that's all the new and the old parties can think about.

I am going to disagree, although I know that is almost unheard of on this forum. The point about checks and balances is this: We have a Board that does not do what the Mayor or some guy in the back room wants them to do. Tell me ONCE when that happened when CAP was in power and the majority of the Board did not do what they were told to do. Just ONCE. Further, this Board is diverse, with diverse backgrounds and diverse approaches to decisions. So let's go through THAT checklist: - Pierce was part of CAP and comes at his decisions with that background. To a fault, he is the defender of the "little guy". He asks lots of questions and forces human issues into dialogs. A long time politician with lots of experience. And that's good. - Paulos is old Antioch, but he has yet to play that card. And he shouldn't. He is a smart guy who runs finance at CLC and uses that knowledge in his spending decisions. He has good ideas and is a good communicator. He is a solid contributor. And that's good. - Sakas is a former military officer with in-depth experience with P&Z and engineering issues, having once been a member of Village staff. Now a senior manager in another town. A brilliant strategist with good instincts and broad experience. And that's good. - Crosby is clearly the most experienced of all in dealing with issues from a business perspective. An impressive large business and entrepreneurial background and a no nonsense, strong leader. Is resident oriented and an excellent communicator. And that's good. - Wolczyz is the youngest of the group. Quiet, thoughtful, but on the mark when he speaks. A firefighter and EMS technician in Waukegan who blends his decisions with consideration of what is right for the Village work force. And that's good. - Jozwiack is a businessman and entrepreneur with what appears to be a solid knowledge of finance. A confident, hands on guy who is deeply involved with large and small issues from budgets to computer wiring at Village Hall. And that's good. From my perspective, none of these guys "fall in line" behind each other, as Dorothy and her crowd used to call for - literally. They approach issues differently, but so far at least, appear to have gotten their decisions right after balanced and respectful dialog with each other. They offset each other quite well. All of them have good attitudes, deeply care about our town, and approach each issue, each resident comment, and each problem with respect and common sense. And that is good. This is the best Board that Antioch in all my years here. Maybe ever.

Thanks wrote: Well I've out-smarted and out-argued you and Blinky this whole time, which I agree, isn't saying too much. But thanks for the short response, I can pretty much finally end on that. I actually work for a living. P.S, sorry "Gatekeeper" for budging in on your forum topic. It appears you were actually using this forum for something constructive. Of course you say you work for a living. Dropping your wife off in North Chicago to work for a bag of Quarters, I just don't think that should be called working for a living. At least she works !.

I hope it's the best board ever and they do have some good people. But you're still a dbag. And what's wrong with North Chicago? Is that some kind of racist comment? Now that sounds like "old" Antioch thinking.

The the only sewer is the smell coming from your mouth everytime you talk. And I am sorry about before, I've finally realized you've tried washing the dbag sign off your forehead but it won't come off. So you've accepted it and have learned to live with it. Good for you. Sorry about this screen name, that's what was heard around town about your sex life.

Insults insults, for a piece of sh** who has never said anything good about any one else you do make every one laugh. You have to be a real trip to live with , I guess that explains why the rest of your family are drunks , drug abusers, felons. Any way they are the one's that have to live with not us "thank God"

Well if you look back, it was you and others that started with the insults, which is the only reason I came to this forum. And sorry, no drunks, drug abusers or fellons in my family. You will just have to wait 'til your family gatherings this holiday season if you want to see all of that. It might actually bother what you say if any of it were close to factual. And my family can actually make complete, coherent sentences, unlike you.

Blinky, do you even read your own posts? You're the one that insults people, even by real name, and then when someone calls you out for being the chicken-shit, ignorant dbag that you are, you cry that all I do is make insults. I came to this dumbass forum only to call you out for your lame, unfounded insults. If you'd care to man up and say some of these things in person, I'd love to make you look like a sissy in that forum also. But this is where Blinky the Clown chooses to live. Awe, someone made you look like an idiot in public so you had to come here and insult them. You make yourself look like an idiot everytime you write something, so why don't you just stick to insulting yourself? You DBAG!

Of course I being the Strightshooter would be more than happy to "man up" but not this year. I only came to this forum for one real reason , to insult all of you out there , insult the elected officials of Antioch , and "ANYBODY" who don't see my point of view and then duck for cover behind one of my many log on names.

Once again, I came here to insult you Blinky. You don't have a point of view, other than the view you get with your head up your ass. Apparently you have Alzheimer’s, so let me remind you that it was YOU, Blinky AOL, that started slinging insults, by name, and started changing screen names. It was YOU, Blinky AOL, that called a newly elected official, by name, a "sleaze ball". Now I'm sure that was because you agreed with that elected official's point of view. And I will man up to you whenever you're ready to come out from hiding in the train station bathroom.

Good morning dick-less. It seems as if you have another "friend" who thinks you are a joke. It's also interesting that you think all the people that think you are that joke are me. Gee's you are one insucure nut-less joke of a person who as the other person stated hide's behind the many many names you post. You would never (as you say ) man up because you are a coward. Post your name or even your initials coward.

Your so damn ignorant it's amazing. It's funny that you guys think changing screen names (like you also do) is hiding. Like keeping the same dumbass screen name is not hiding? I could give 2 craps (you and your lover) about a screen name. What complete dumbshits, you don't even realize I'm making fun of anyone that has to come here to insult people behind a screen name. Unfortunately, this is the only place to confront you, because this is where you come to make your insults. If you want to know my name, try making your insults in person. Then we will see who "man's up" or not dbag.
