Yes, totally

No, not al all

What's up with the poop depositories?

I am not happy about getting rid of our police.

I like beautifying the village.

I don't care about beautifying the village.

Too much spending on public works

Decided to check out the agendas and minutes. Somebody really needs to look at the July 13th and July 27th dates. On one the agenda appears twice instead of the minutes and on July 27th minutes the July 13th minutes appear instead of the minutes for July 27th. Isn't anybody paying attention? Doesn't anybody check out this stuff? Does the mayor even look at the website?

Government Watch Dog, is there anything you like about living in Hainesville? If I were as miserable as you I would have to leave.

I like my neighbors. I don't like that the mayor has a double standard about finances. Doesn't it bother you at all that Hainesville voted against a Route 120 bypass? If not, then you never leave your house. Why didn't you say this to all the people who used to post on here?

Hainesville Honey: give me $250,000.00 cash for my house and we can close on Monday and you can have it. Otherwise, I have the right to point out things that I think are wrong about the village.

Day 83 and the "fiscally responsible" mayor has not yet paid her real estate taxes. I believe as a resident that I have the right to expect the mayor to play by the sames rules as the rest of us.

It has been 91 days since the first real estate tax payment was due and your "fiscally responsible" mayor has failed to make a payment. Nice gig if you can get it.

What exactly does Trustee Duberstein have against cattails? Why move into a village surrounded by wetlands and then destroy them? For pete's sake they are part of our logo. When the county made the path around the wetlands on Big Horn they actually replanted cattails! The Lake County Health Department calls their newsletter Cattail Chronicles. The entrances to Misty Hill and DeerPoint off of 120 look awful. She is supposed to be for the natural habitat. What's with this kill and destroy mission? Beautification, my eye!!!
Well, at least the mayor isn't helping pay for it since her taxes remain unpaid. Obviously she doesn't care.

Apathy and dishonesty arive alive and well. Everyone I know including my wife and I voted to keep the cops. What happened? I guess everyone forgot about that shady one sided "survey".

You people are unreal, I hope you go to the village meetings or are you one of those people who can only sit behind your computer screen and criticize everything that is going on in your village??? If you think you have the answers to everything and know how to correct the problems in the big village of HAINESVILLE, then why don't you run in the next election. I hear there are 3 people that are up for re-election, maybe you should run and you just might be voted in and you can change the village overnight. GOOD LUCK with that one.

I agree with you in some ways 5 year resident, but everyone has their own opinion, some people who post on this site are pretty mean. Here is a good one that I found on the agenda for the meeting on this tuesday 10/12/10. It says under an omnibus vote that there is a transfer of title for the 2009 crown victoria car.(one of our old police cars) who is the title getting transfered to???? I thought that the village got rid of 2 of them and was going to keep the other 2. Could it be that the mayor is getting the transfer????? It looks like there is one of the vehicles sitting in her garage. If the mayor is buying the vehicle, the value stated in the agenda is $10,000, so how could she buy this vehicle at this price if she could not pay her taxes on time?????? Looks like there is alot going on under the table that this village is unaware of. I am going to have to start going to meetings again to see what is going on. Seems like this whole transparency of information the mayor stated she would do has now been covered up by a black cloak. Enough said!!!!!

Greetings to all,

I encourage all of you to come to tomorrow night's board meeting Tuesday, 10/12 7:00 the Hainesville Village Hall. I also strongly encourage all of you to pick up an election packet and run for Trustee in the Spring election.

You might also want to examine some of the financials and meeting minutes as a lot of facts seem to be missing. We did not pay $600 for a popcorn machine but accumatively we have paid that much overtime for renting them in the past. We also received $7400 this year in sponsorship money for Hainesville Fest.

The 2009 Crown Victoria is not being tranferred to me nor am I purchasing it. I have been driving the 2010 Crown Victoria (the one the village will be keeping)this past week. I have experienced some car trouble and am authorized to use such vehicle locally as an official. No one else in my family has been driving it and this is temporary right now, but you can be assured that you will see me and other village officials driving it when necessary. Vehicles need to be driven and not just sitting idle until an emergency happens.

You will see this same vehicle out on Halloween driven by another village official.

I have met with many families and business owners in Hainesville who are truly struggling in these economic times. I and my family have had our own challenges. The real estate tax bills have been a heavy burden on everyone. I have been fighting them as a resident and as an official representing the people. We have always paid our taxes. Last year we did not pay them till October and all interest was included. This year they were paid in full by the September due date.

I fully understand how the tax monies are disbursed and when they are disbursed. All of mine were paid long before the disbursement and nobody waited for my money. There was even benefit from the interest. I beleive our assessment process in Avon Townhsip and Lake County is unfair and I will continue to protest the process till it changes. You might consider doing the same. Do you think your assessment was fair? You should do your due dilligence on getting the facts. Come to meetings. Ask questions, and voice your opinion with a name instead of a handle.

Why is the mayor driving the municipal car with regularity? The car that we the tax payers are paying for? Weren't they supposed to be the fiscally responsible slate when they ran for office. Why are her trustees not asking this question?

Just an observer, your comment is very late. The Mayor explained in the above post very well why the car is being used when needed by her or any other official. If the car sits too long it will turn to junk anyway. As long as the village car is used under official business who cares. Also, I'm happy the Mayor paid because I was getting sick of Government Watch Dog's Posts.

If you are sick of my posts, then don't read them! This car should not be used because of anyone's personal issues. We should not even have this car. It costs us in insurance, gas, maintenance. Can I get in on the program? My car was in the shop and I had to rent a car. I should have been allowed to use the village car. As for who cares, WE CARE.
