Heinrich and Lujan voted yes because they don't know how to stand up to President Obama. As a democrat, I fully support Teague in his vote no on this bill. Any form of healthcare legislation that adds to our national debt is not a sound decision. Our leaders need to reform the system without giving the burden to the taxpayers and future generations. Harry Teague, you have my vote for re-election. More than 68% of Americans do not support the current legislation, so I think he made a sound decision in favor of the majority of Americans.

I would like to add my voice in thanking Teague for voting against the travesty known as the house health care reform bill! Thank you Harry! Others who would like to thank him should do so via letters, e-mails, and phone calls! The voice of the constituency was heard!

Heinrich says the bill would help states like New Mexico that have historically low Medicare reimbursement rates to health care providers. Where is the money going to come from since the bill cuts $500-million from Medicare? How are you going to increase reimbursement rates if you do not have the money? My gawd man .... use a little common sense. I know you are talking to people in Albuquerque, but do you think they are REALLY THAT DUMB?

Did Harry vote for his conscience or his political future? He fully knew he would have been finished in NM had he voted for the bill. I'm glad he didn't vote for Pelosi care, but it still passed. I wish he had done more publicly to sway other votes against that piece of crap legislation.

Rep. Harry Teague made the right decision! he listened to his constituents, he recognized the massive ~2000 page bill would add crushing debt and bureaucracy, and he was willing to vote correctly. Health care reform can mean many things, but if it needs to be hidden in ~2000 pages of lawyer lingo, then it can't be good. The bill also did not address some key items that may actually help like opening competition, tort reform, etc. I consider myself a realist; believe something needs to be done but not a massive change that congress would not even adopt for themselves. GREAT JOB HARRY!

Just so Teague gets the right message, call him and thank him for voting NO. I think that this bill is not the way we should reform our health care. We have health care that 85% of the people approve of, so lets fix it so that more people would like it. 1. Tort reform. 2. Insurance bought anywhere in the United States. 3. Once and insurance company insures you, they cannot cancel your insurance. This would eliminate pre existing conditions. 4. Premiums based on the model of life insurance the younger you are, the lower the premium.

Did I miss something, Heinrich said that the House bill will help with low Medicare reimbursement rates to health care providers. From news reports that I have read and heard, the House bill will do just the opposite. It will "reduce" Medicare reimbursement rates in order to reduce the federal deficit.

Whatever anyone thinks of the health care bill passed by the House, Teague's reasons for voting against it are fictions to rationalize his vote; they are not true. Clearly, Teague voted, not for his convictions, but for his continuation in office. At least, Steve Pearce, with whom I differ on both positions and honest representation, would have voted his true beliefs. When a person as old and rich as Teague votes to protect his stay in office, not do what he pledges on his home page, everyone knows that his primary motive is ego, not public service. If he is going to vote like Pearce, better to vote for the real thing. If Democrats want a Congressional representative who votes like a Democrat, they had better find one to run against Teague in the primary.

I guess Harry Teague figured out that if he wanted to keep his office, he'd better start paying attention to what the voters want, not what Obama and his "Pelosi" minion want. Good to see that you're getting smarter, Teague. As for the rest of you fools that still can't see the light, remember majority still rules, and you're not it! Now....onward to 2010, and getting rid of the remaining Obama minions that can't think for their constituents. Let's keep repeating this kind of thinking until we rid ourselves of those that are trying to destroy America.

"But Heinrich and Lujan said the measure would cut the federal deficit. It was estimated to reduce the federal deficit by about $104 billion over a decade, but its longer-term impact was unclear." They never estimate the impact beyond ten years because everyone with any sense of history knows the plan will increase the debt exponentially. What about those of us with life expectancies beyond 2019?
