Want to do what's best for the Republican Party? Don't run at all!
Right now the Republican Party is a 'landfill' that smells a mile high! You would only bring in another truck load of rubble!

Steve Pearce is smart. He knows that during a midterm election it is easier to defeat an incumbent. Especially when that incumbent if from the same party as the President.

Given that Pearce has experience winning that House seat before. I think he is the odds on favorite to win.

steve pearce, like bush and cheney, represent a dark time in america's recent history, marked by greed, unneccesary war, economic disaster, a health care and education system in ruins and political lies and corruption, among other things...pearce will not find a very welcoming reception even in southern n.m.....my money's on teague winning a second term regardless if pearce challenges him or not...

What is very sad is almost all the local news web site are publishing AP articles. They all show the same AP articles. They can't even come up with their own articles. That's very sad.

As an actual resident of New Mexico's Second Congressional District, Pearce would be better than Teague any day. And also as a person who voted for Teague in the last election, I will be casting my next vote for Pearce.

Pierce - you QUIT that position! Why should anyone vote for you if you run again?

If I quit my job to hope to get a better one and I don't get it, my old boss should tell me to "F" off when I come crawling back trying to get my old position back.

Nonsense. Apparently you have done no checking on Pearce's record while in office. He has always been against a bigger government, he understands that health and education problems we now have are because of elected officials sticking their collective noses where it does not belong.

He was also one of President Bush's biggest opponents when it came to domestic spending. Check out his voting record and you can see for yourself.

The only "dark" times we have had in this country happened on 9-11-2001, 9 months into President Bush's first term. We were attacked on our own soil because of the previous administrations failures. Which, if I remember my history right, was old Slick Willie himself, Bill Clinton. So don't go blaming the entire war on terror on Bush, he just had to try to clean up the mess left behind by others.

Political lies and corruption have been a fact of life in every administration in every country in the world since time began. Saying that Bush, or any other President, is the cause of all our problems today is like claiming that bears don't shaaat in the woods. Those kind of thoughts mean that you are clueless so here is a clue for you. How about blaming all the members of the House and Senate first. The President can only sign into law or veto the bills sent to his desk. Nothing more. It's true that he was the leader of the greatest country on earth but he, nor any other President, does everything by himself.

Think about it then learn how to capitalize and punctuate. Your post looks like something an 8th grader from the APS system would write.

I really hope that Obama can suceed, but I'm beginning to have my doubts - just spending way tooo much money! So, having said that, do you like crow, because you may well have to eat some in a very few short years.

I've met and corresponded with both men quite a bit and I'll take Steve Pearce any day. Just take a look at Teague's voting record in the short time he has been in office and you will see why.

I don't want to live in a socialist, big brother will take care of you, kind of country. I was born and raised a free American citizen and I intend to stay that way.

You think that maybe he was wanting a higher office, with more responsibility and the ability to do better for the American public than what he could do in the House?

I'll vote for him, back his campaign, whatever it takes to see him back where he belongs. Working for all New Mexicans and every American citizen.

I do because I want to remind everyone of what a mistake they made in voting for the Wombat. I fear that this administration is going to be worse than the peanut farmers, if you are even old enough to remember the Jimmy Carter years, with interest rates up around 22% and unemployment numbers to match.

Be prepare for Pierce to run another dirty and negative campaign. If that's the best he can do, then it's better he stay out of politics.

Pearce made a tactical error running for senate at the worst possible time.
He is still the best man to represent southern NM.
BTW: why are liberal commentators so obscene and call names first?

His tactical error was running such a negative attack on Wilson. That left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. This one liberal who would have preferred Pearce to .have not played by the karl rove play book. He should show more personal integrity than that.

If he was so smart why did he quit in the first place? How's he gonna explain that away? Try quitting yer job for another position & when you fail try coming back, see what kind of reception you get.

The only favorable part of his decision is that the people from down south are stupid.
