I just can't figure out people like Darwin, other than their obvious lack of evoloution. Complaints about limiting the rights of homeowners suggest that this person moved to LSL with no intention of following rules that were established before he/she even got here. This community has been recognized nationally in part because of the very rules that are in place to protect property values. Don't like it? Why did you move here? And as for the comment "the majority of people that pay those fees are limited in what they get for those fees", what are you talking about? Every memeber in good standing can use ALL of the amenities if they pay for them. Nothing is limiting Darwin or any other member's use of the CA properties. If you choose not to use them, that is your problem.
No better way to destroy a great community than to build it into something special and then have outsiders move in - with no understanding of the community or its history - and then try to change all the rules.

I really don't need to say it but LSL Dad said it perfect, those that have a vison beyond that of the CA are deemed 'outsiders'.
Look jackass- as soon as I began paying and remained in good standing 18 years ago, I stopped becoming an outsider. Like it or not, I am entitled to an opinion, even if it doesn't match yours.
Your boorish, snobbish behaviour will be what finally destroys the CA as younger people who expect full rights to their property move in and end the UNCONSTITUTIONAL restrictions the CA has imposed.
Why is it the business of anyone else in the community that I want a dark tan siding, but am told I can't have it because there are too many of those in the neighborhood already?
Why must I have a white fence around my pool when I want a black one that has less visibility?
You can continue to look stupid and assume I moved here planning to not follow the CA rules, which I have followed since day 1, but I guess I should assume then that you are a racist, arrogant 78 year old man who only cares about his money and not the rights and needs of those less fortunate.
Not an accurate assumption is it?

Well, you missed my age by more than 1/4 century, for starters. Lake Saint Louis was built as a planned community, and the benefit from all of that planning is the maintenance of property values. You obviously missed the fact that, according to County records, LSL property values have done better than any other city in the County during the recent economic downturn. I wonder why that is? When you move into the CA, you are party to a contract that you will follow their rules. I'm glad to hear that you have done so. I'm not at all sure what any of this has to do with the less fotunate. Anyone that lives in Lake Saint Louis is pretty fortunate in my eyes. But if you can't afford to live here, please feel free to find somewhere less expensive. You'll be better off living within your means, and the community will be allowed to continue to grow and thrive. If you can afford to live here, good on ya!

I wonder who all the anti establishment people voted for in the last election, obviously they were a minority or there would be more of 'their' types running the CA and they would be happy. As it stands more of 'my' type of people are running the show because they were VOTED in and I am glad its that way. I will vote and I will live with the outcome of the next election, just wish everyone else would do the same!
