What is everyone's thought on Prop 3?

Prop 3 is just an excuse to give the district more money to waste, and not an incentive to become more financially responsible. Look into the expenses and hiring of the district.

Too many people in the offices, too much spent for facilites that are redundant or unneeded, and too little spent for teachers and books. Many kids do not have books this year to take home to study with. They have to leave them at school.

The school board and the administration have wasted YOUR money and preformed a charade with the public.

Get rid of th board, and get rid of the administration.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Why don't you try to run an entire school district, being responsible for the educational outcome and daily upbringing, no less, of thousands of children with not enough space or necessities to adequately do so?!?! Our school district is doing the best they can, with the little that they have. Let me guess... You feel the way you stated, yet you still have your children attending schools there??? You are a selfish person who clearly hasn't done the proper research to back up your hideous statements, who is using the school system yet refusing to contribute.

Amanda, what are you talking about? You seem passionate about the issue, but why?

I assume you think it is the school districts place to handle the 'upbringing' of my children.

Sorry, but that is my place, not the districts, or the government.

You call it 'our district'. What exactly is your tie to the district? A teacher, administrator- but which of the too-many- to -count ones, or just some parent with an opinion?

As for the hideous statements, which were those? And what research was needed or missed? Sorry, but your comment seems a bit vague

I've read all of the literature regarding this proposition and I've yet to see how this tax increase will affect the area businesses? The burden seems to fall solely on the homeowner.

If I'm overlooking the information, someone please correct me.

I am a sixth grade student at a middle school in the district, and I can't believe that you would say that! If this proposition is not passed, then there will br seventy kids in my high-school class, per class. My mom works at an elementary school, and she leads the autism department, and if this prop doesn't pass, she will have to look after 22 kids who can't figure out how to even write their name. She would gladly swich jobs with you, and then you can see how much of a moron you are!

Cameron, I appreciate your comments, however, you are in sixth grade. You haven't the slightest clue what you are talking about. How will your high school classes have 70 students per class? Where do you get this information?

As for your mother, she chose her profession, she can unchoose it as well if she doesn't like the working conditions.

Simple fact, this district wastes money and deceives the public on nearly every issue they bring before the public. They do things that are suspect and possibly in violation of the laws of Missouri.

The board is a waste of energy. It seems only those privileged enough to fall into the good graces of the board are selected to lead the community-run projects. Did you attend the GPS meetings? They were a sham from the beginning, designed to only solicit the answers the district wanted.

The board acts irresponibly with the taxpayers money and fold to special interests instead of taking care of the EDUCATION of the students.

The winners from the elections today will do nothing but be 'yes-men' for Adams, and the tax increase will DEVALUE property when people can't pay the new taxes that will cause some to fall behind in mortgages. The dollars they get from this tax increase will be further wastes and allow for waste of dollars that could have been spent to pay some of these bills.

If the district have leveraged itself to the max on bonds, and still needs many millions more- isn't it a good chance that some money should be saved by cutting back? This district has not cut back, only pushed ahead to stay even with the 'Jones'.

I'm sure that the district, like any government agency, and probably like most businesses, has waste that could be eliminated. If people feel that is the case, and that the board is not working to eliminate that waste, then they should run for the board, or at the very least work hard to get people elected that will fix the problems. Just showing up to vote isn't enough, any more that posting on this site. That won't make any difference.

Regardless, of all of the areas where I would be willing to pay a little more in taxes, the first would be for local schools. The success of the district has a huge impact on many things, including the crime rate, unemployment, development, and yes - property values, to name but a few. For those who have no interest in seeing their kids go to college, or those with no kids, the quality of the local schools may not be important. But anyone who has worked in real estate will tell you that people want to buy or build in areas with good schools. Poor schools simply drive down the value of homes.

The tax increase is too small to cause people to not be able to afford their taxes....unless they already couldn't beforehand.

Are you in the Wentzville District, do you work for the district, did you get papers and packets of information passed out to you? I may be a sixth grader, but I am apparently smarter than you because you don't think prop 3 is good. Once you are a teacher and have to deal with 20 autistic students a day, then I will take your part into more conciteration. As for my mom, with the economy being how it is, we're lucky to have a job. I may not have to suffer the outcomes of a bad economy, but I can read gas prices, and I can figure out that it isn't good. Contact me back once your child comes home from school, and asks for prop 3 to be passed.(That is, if you do have children in the District.)
