An independent survey of likely St. Charles County voters shows that Michael E. Carter is leading Rick Zerr in a race for the judgeship in Circuit 11, Division 4, St. Charles County.

Carter with 61% and Zerr with 39% of likely voters.

The election for the St. Charles County judgeship will be held on November 7, 2006.

Michael E. Carter has focused on educating St. Charles County's youth about local judicial processes.

Rick Zerr stumps his mediation skills and desire to bring more mediation to family law.

Both are certified mediators.

Rick Zerr should NOT be elected judge:
1. He proved himself incompetent and untrustworthy with the money scandle when previously a judge;
2. His wife, Judy Zerr, is Circuit Clerk. We do not want a husband-wife team with that much power in our court;
3. Rick's #1 reason to be elected is get just a few more months service as a judge so he can collect a fat retirement for the rest of his life.
Judges' retirement is to the tune of nearly $100,000 per year!
Tax Payers, we don't need to be paying for his golden retirement!

Seems a couple other St. Charles Blogs are indicating Zerr is a shoe-in. Who do we believe?

I like the 3212522 time and temp thing Carter has going.

Are judges always ELECTED??

No. Three or Four counties appoint judges and then do retention votes every so many years -- that is "yes" or "no" to stay in.

The rest of the 100 or so counties elect their judges. Though some counties merge together and have one judge for two or three counties.
What the heck

Things are changing and cities like Wentzville are adding citizenry with different demographics -- Lots of Union people.

Not to mention the troubles for Repubs as of late. What about the pedophile that just resigned?

Everyone knows Zerr is a fake Republican. St. Chuck won't be fooled. I bet Carter will get all the Republican votes Zerr didn't get in the primary. That shouls seal the deal.
