I agree, let's not ban smoking. Let's also allow fornication in public and animal sacrifice.

What's the difference? It's all about the rights of individuals, isn't it?

I like how the ban is blamed on liberals, while most restrictions of rights exist due to the conservatives. That shows how little most know abou tthe real issues.

[QUOTE who="FreedomFan" I don't dispute the risks to being around smoke. I hate it, and avoid it. I don't go to places that allow smoking. My issue is with the freedom to make a choice. If you don't like the smoke in a certain business, don't go there. That is your choice, just as it is mine. And if a business wants to allow smoking, and push me away as a customer, that is their call, because it is their business and their money. If they make the wrong choice, and business suffers, that is their right. I don't know, or care, whether or not banning smoking hurts their business, because I think it should be up to them to make that decision.
If a parent is stupid enough to take their kids to a smoking establishment, that is their choice..[/QUOTE]

I agree 100%!
I too hate cig smoke, but believe it is my choice and personal responsibility to watch out for myself, not the Gov. Protect yourself, don't empower the gov to do it for you.

So I know this is a bit old now, but I did want to comment. Though I do find it a bit stupid to bad smoking inside everywhere, I'm finding kind of nice. I myself do not smoke, but I am usually around those who do, and I can finally go to lunch with them without coughing up a lung. I went to Denny's the other day and because there was no smoking section, we could sit where ever we wanted (Right next to the pretty display with the plants and water!)

I get that it's not really an arguing point, but it's just nice. I'd understand if this ban was lifted, but for the meantime, I'm going to enjoy it.

I smoke and if u don't allow it, then u don't get my business, ur loss, not mine. I work hard and don't miss work, even pick days for those who don't want to work, so my tax $ either count or they dont. Still, ur loss. I can eat and drink anywhere else that supports my smoking.
