Do not buy cigarettes in Lake St. Louis, do not let them get the tax money. Go to close by cities to drink and smoke in their clubs. Government stay our of people's lives!!!!!. Put that up to a city wide vote not let 4 people chose for you!!!!

It's not right for someone who has POWER to tell owners how to run a business.

It is about time. I know of a Pub in Lake St. Louis that had a bit of restoration done and the wallpaper was soaked in cigarette smoke so bad no one could tell what color it was prior. Just imagine what the customers lungs look like. True, most were smokers, but some have quit and avoided the place do to the smoke. Maybe the "Erin go Bra-less" party this St. Patty's day won't be so smoky.

I read the other comments here and in other venues, and it seems a lot who support smoking don't use "spell-Check." If you want to sound more convincing, and less un-educated, please use it.

Well let's see 4 Aldermen vote to ban smoking in Lake St. Louis thats fine now the residents who do smoke should excerise their rights and buy their cigarettes in another city. Good luck loosing that revenue LSL. 4 vote for 15,000 doesn't sound right at all.

If I owned an establishment such as a bar / restaurant it should be my decision! I assume all the risks in the buisness and pay the taxes. If you do not like smoking establishments then go somewhere else. I would think then the non smoking places would boom with business and let the smoking places go out of business. You all know thats not the case and government is taking rights away from people. Maybe the government can get the overweight and lazy away from fast foods and reduce our overall health care costs. What a sad shame seeing some of these things happening in the USA.

To all those that say it is the owners right to decide, I ask this. Why is it not the owners right to allow nudity in their establishments?

As a business owner, you should already know there are limitations on what you can do.

Study after study has proven the effects of smoking are never good. As a non-smoker I should not have to suffer the health effects of someone who cares so little about their health that they knowing use a cancer-causing substance that also effects those in hhe same area.

I'm glad the 4 aldermen voted for this, I only ask, where are the others on this?

Who are these Aldermans anyways? But whatever, my questions is this. When smoking is finally banned across the country, where do you think the tax dollars you recieved from smokers gonna come from. Just food for thought.

I think these bans are silly and stupid. More thought should be given to maybe setting a limit on the number of drinks a person is served in order to keep drunks off the road. Sounds like a more serious problem to me.

You will understand owners rights only when you become an owner. You want to know where the others are on this? They are on the side of protecting our rights. Better be careful when they start a ban on "idiots" you won't be able to do what you want.

To Youareanidiot.

First point- I AM AN OWNER! Oh, too bad for you that your own comment slaps you in the face!

Second Point- You still have the right to smoke. You just do not have the right to infringe on MY rights by spewing your desired toxic substances that will KILL me in public.

Third Point- Maybe YOU will understand the pain of lung cancer when someone you care about dies at a young age from the effects of both smoke and second hand smoke.

Thank you Lake Saint Louis! Always the leader - let us see the rest of St. Charles County follow; and eventually the state. We are maintaining the atmosphere that makes it the 9th best place to live in the US!

You are one of those people that thinks everyone should cater to you? You can't make your own decision not to visit a smoking establishment? Nudity in bars? If that is my choice as a business owner I should have that right. Just don't visit my place. When will you ask the chineese restraunt to cater to your needs because the menu might not be healthy enough? Do we ignore the fat and lazy people that torture the health care system? Start adding up those numbers against smokers. When will we ban all the fast food places that have fattened up our kids and thier parents?

The United States of America and its original way of freedom is slowing going towards the other countries way called communism.
