I don't understand how things like this keep happening in the Sachem area. In the past year or so I can think of 3 violent crimes that have taken place in Holbrook and Ronkonkoma involving teenagers. This is disgusting

This very sad incident speaks to an overall lack of dicipline and poor parenting in the community. We need to stop being so liberal with our children, especially teens, stop being their "friends", and stop worrying if they are having enough fun.

its very funny that you say sachem, because sachem had nothing to do with this, it happend in RONKONKOMA, yes that is a sachem city but you dont need to point this out on sachem, yes the school sucks but you dont need to say that. it happened probably because of a gang so why dont you talk about the cops in the area who are doing nothing with their time but sit on there ass or sit on the L.I.E and talk to other cops or pull people over for their phone instead of patrolling the areas where things like this could happen.

Yes the kid is dead and that is terrible. He was obviously a teen gangster and died in a gang fight. Let's not pretent that "standing up for his friends" does not mean he was a good street fighter. Call it what it is. If his Aunt and Uncle did not permit him to live a life of street gangs and criminal activity he would have been alive today.

First, you people who automatically bring up the gang, latino, bad parenting, etc excuses make me literally ill.
Second, the one who said its a Sachem thing, get over....you are in Bohemia, or your ISP is.....lots of lovely stuff happening at over at your lovely CHS yes? Piss off
Good kids get caught in crap too....it happens everywhere in this country and not just to latinos. You want to help fix the problem? Talk to your kids, make the time to see what is really going on instead of spouting so high and mighty from your ignorance.
I find it disgusting that this kid made it across that parking lot, across Foster Road and not a damn one of the people in their cars, etc, noticed or cared.
Shame on you all.

It's too bad when people saw all of those kids gathering they didn't think to call the cops to begin with. Kids do not hang out in such large groups. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.

i have no idea who jon is, but here they go again, people acting like they knew the people in the articles and talking out of there asses. no one has any right to judge the situation unless you were there and know what happened, or if you were a close friend.

It is so sad that while a teenager has lost his life, we as adults speculate, cast aspersions, and denegrate one another. The reality of the situation is that a family is grieving. As a parent, one can only hope our child is safe as they walk out the door telling us they are one place while being another. I hope no parent is so foolish as to say that this could never happen to their child. Blame does not sit with just one group(Parents,Police, Teens, Music, Politics...etc). COME ON, We could play the blame game forever. The truth is our whole society is to blame based on many factors. PLEASE Keep talking to your children and your children's friends and your neighbor's children about life's perils and hopefully they will listen. Lead by example. Take a momement to re-read the postings and see what examples we are setting. May that young man rest in peace.

what a stupid a@@ thing to say..people acting like they know the people in the articles..what are the odds that people read articles about terrible things that happen to close friends and then they read the comments because they wan't to see what people are saying about their boy? Think about it genius

And its people like you that shouldn't be on here. You don't know who Jon is. He's the kid that was murderd. That's what everyone is forgetting in all these cases of teenage murder round sachem. Stop thinking about how terrible the criminals are and respect the victim's life by giving out encouragement for safe passing

"Angry Lew" I am as angry as you...and disgusted as well...but we DO NOT simply move away. We increase our efforts to elect officials that will show enough spine to simply not allow gangs to proliferate...and hold those in power more accountable than ever. Take your outrage and make calls, write letters, get more involved.

Terrible things happen everywhere, but "moving away" is not the only or best answer...at least not for me.

Word on the street is that Folk-Nation(aka wanna-be Crypts) were the people that did that to John. A name to be thrown out who prob was the one fighting or stabbing was Mike Windland(supposed leader of Folk Nation) also known as Blue. These wanna be gang members are known to the SCPD and have been introuble with the law before.

Very sad event.know the spot and some of the kids.police can only respond to events when they happen.Public needs to be aware (strange congregations and such) Make the call get involved ,If you want things better.Plus Nobody ,Including "friends" at scene or BK employees did anything to help this kid (who was stabbed by an ADULT) other than call police and then watch him lie in street till they arrived. WE are all to blame when we don,t get involved because ""it's not my problem" attitude.
