Wondering

Hot topic in Lake Placid and area. The railroad.
Word is that the manager has gone back to Vermont with his boyfriend to live. They're down to one engineer - some fat ugly broad who's got such a personality that everybody dislikes her except for a few of the volunteers. The clown won't go back if a particular old-man volunteer is working. I guess this guy is some kind of work from what I hear. Mean, obnoxious, likes little boys, etc.. Too bad. They shouldn't allow people like that on the RR anywhere.
There's no one to manage it except for some younger kid that's pretty much a loose canon from what the others say. They even tried to get a former manager back but after they treated him like dirt, he told them to get f****ed. The pair that was running it before did the best job out of all of them and they fired them. The people on the board don't have the collective IQ's of an elm tree from what I've heard.
At this point, the rails-to-trails people should make their move to get the rails taken out. The RR can't seem to make a go of it and they got rid of the two best people they had when they fired the two managers. Now it's in shambles because of the piss poor management that's leaving, the people they got working on it now, and one of the board members that is now incapacitated due to his alcoholism. Nice set up. If they had left the only two good people alone that they had, the RR would have been much better off from what I've been told by several past workers. I don't know what they're both doing now, but they deserved better than what they got and I hope they're both better off being away from that awful mess.
Tear the tracks out. The time has come. The RR has proven it has no intentions of every finishing the job and the state has no money to do it either. Too bad. It had such great potential.
nope

I heard the manager quit and is going back to where ever he came from. He was clueless anyway. He and that little blond guy were an item I think. Frankly, after the last time I was on it last year, I wouldn't go back. One guy named Rusty I think was just plain nasty to people. What is a guy like this doing on a train anyway? I think there was about 10 of us on the train that day too. We might have gotten more in saranac lake but i'm not sure. The lady at the station in saranac wasn't that nice either. In fact, no one was real nice. They had some younger looking kid that looked like he needed a shave working too and this guy was like out there. where do they find people like this. They used to have some real nice people on there but there gone now. to bad. They should get them back.
Should be closed up. They not doing anything with it anymore anyway. we drove all the way from chateaugay to ride it when our grandkids came up from Virginia but wont do that anymore.
