Hi there. My family are thinking of moving from LI to the Lake Norman or Lake Wylie area. Can someone please describe the differences and benefits of each area. Also is there any benefit to live on the NC or SC side of Lake Wylie? We currently live in one of the top school districts on LI...can you help me out with the top 3 school districts to choose in both locations. I really do not want to send my kids to private schools as that defeats the point of moving down to try to save money. Thx.

Also there is a ton of things for the kids to do after school here on Long it the same in the Lake Norman and Lake Wylie areas? My 2 girls are active in the roman catholic church, library after school programs(to many to mention), girl scouts, karate, art classes, dance, sports thru the school districts for elementary school kids...i.e. basketball, lacrosse, and soccer. There are also a ton of summer camps run through the county such as science, art, music, etc.
