Retreat: To hear about the incident, is heartbreaking. It could have been a purifying event, which the Native Americans have used safely for healing of body, mind and spirit for hundreds of years. What we could imagine happened is that the tarp, especially if made in China, had toxic substances in it, which were released at an accelerated rate by the moisture and heat in the sweat lodge. We have noticed that items from China often have a harsh chemical smell or even smell like car tires. May be this could be taken into consideration as cause, to help the suffering overcome possible toxicity. Our prayers go to those recovering and to those who lost friends and relatives.

FACTS
1. The natives never used this kind of mystification. It originated in Scandinavian countries.
2. Let the forensic investigators research what really happened.

This organization is misrepresenting the true facts and histories of a great civilization, and therefore is a total fraud. All responsible should be punished accordingly, and go out of business.

Research into ancient Native American cultures show that this practice of "Sweating" originated in the Americas in or about 1362 when the remains of the exiled Knights Templar arrived in Michigan. The Kensington Stone exactly dates the introduction of this Scandinavian practice. The practice was nothing more than a cold weather bath. The present day interpretation of “Spiritual Healing” is a far fetched and inaccurate myth. Furthermore, to attribute this ancient bathing practice we go back to Rome who adopted its cleansing properties. At no time did any culture ever use this bathing technique to ‘Purify Ones Soul”. My Naumkeag / Algonquin heritage never used this technique, as it was dangerous. However, my good friends at the Apache Nation today concurred that they in fact did, as it saved water. They even went on to say, " ... they have no idea how to do it". Therefore this California con artists needs to be charged with multiple counts of felony murder and misreputation of the facts for profit. SIC

the bottom line is that this is a sacred ceremony that is to be only done with a person who has earned the right to take another person's purification of body mind and spirit into their hands in a most humble and spiritual intent. this person did not earn the right, nor is he native and has undergone the protocol to pour water, PLUS he charged, money is not supposed to be a part of this sacred rite. It is one of our first ceremonies of purification. I think they should of just stuck to the sauna or practiced a rite of scandinavian ways, not our ways of exploiting, this is spiritual genocide yet another genocide to say the least...

I heard they died from heart attacks from a boom car that was near by blaring hip hop music with a 50 thousand watt amplified system. The acoustic terrorism is out of control and killing people.

This person is correct. I am full blood Cherokee, and the way this entire sweat lodge was done was completely wrong. More than likely why the true elders in the Verde Valley wanted NOTHING to do with it. If people want to learn about sweat lodge then they should learn from the people who have been doing it for centuries, not some new age guru from California....
