its a shame that in this country a man can lie and cause the deaths of thousands of americans and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians in iraq and walk free, but people grow pot and get aressted. with the supposed budget shortfall why wasent this money spent on the courthouse, crusers, raises, somt hing usefull. all these teabaggers talk about government intrusion into their daily life, well it dosent get any bigger than this. what a waste of taxpayer money that could have been more usefull spent on things needed.. no more levies or tax increases its time to reduce the budget people are going broke and can no longer afford this kind of wastefull spending

I won't say that growing pot is right, or ok, or whatever....but I can understand ppl being pushed to the wall with our current job situations and having to explore other options to support themselves and their families. I think if the job market out there was going full force and providing a means for ppl to live, work, and support the family, there would be less of this kind of illegal activity going on. On the other hand, if it was made legal and regulated, the taxes that could be generated through the sales, would make a GREAT impact on the national deficit, not to mention the fact that regulation could keep it it safe for those that wish to partake. It has already been legalized in California for medicinal purposes. Is it really any worse than alcohol? Our society has put up with obnoxious drunk drivers destroying endless lives for years and years. Has alcohol been made illegal yet? Of course not, there are too many politicians/law makers that partake.

M.B. if they were wanted for murder they wouldnt have been caught. i hope they fight it and win. they dont need to tax or regulate it. we pay taxes everytime we buy somthing thats enough. you give them more money they build bigger governmet. hopefully people complain about it and say enough is enough. it says somthing about the direction this country is headed when framers of the constitution, THE FOUNDING FATHERS grew pot when they wrote the constitution and gave us our rights, and now people are getting arrestided for doing what our founding fathers did. time to cut the budget some more. nice talking to you.

Skip you crack me up! So great to see that news from lil ol' cow-town is creating talk in the big cities! From the looks of these posts legalizing 'mj' should be fairly easy in our lil town! Honestly really, we have multiple offending, unlicensed, non insured drunk drivers all over this town...STILL FRIGGIN' DRIVING!!!! You got their pot and all the operating/growing supplies, let them out and give them 5-10 more chances! Guaranteed they won't get caught again and again and again!

I tend to applaud when people do a good job. Even if some of the other things are not so good.

Sheriff Williams is an idiot and a poser when it comes to the media. He doesn't do a damn thing. Kind of like Swanson up in Stark County. They sit on their ass, then take the credit for something they had NOTHING to do with. Idiots. Pure idiots

M Beadnell, Alcohol was illegle but prohabition was appealed. Driving under the influence, it doesn't matter what it is, it's still illegal. Heavy use of mj destroys brain cells, just like alcohol, so you want to approve it?

Hey Nunya,
Judging from your lack of intelligence on your post, I assume you have been a resident in the Williams Hilton here in Carrollton. With that being said you obviuosly dont know a damn thing about the Sheriff or you would NEVER make an arrogant statement like that! You call him an idiot, I think the only idiot right now is you!

Nunya is quite correct. Your Sherriff down there is a wind bag. Carroll County needs to focus on substance abuse, like the alcohol. Ive driven thru your little Mayberry town quite a bit, visiting a coworker of mine. I passed a few motorists, blatantly drunk. A Sherriff and a ity cop was sitting in a lot, conversing, while these motorists were all over the road.
Pay attention to fine detail, people. The things u see in movies, happen in real life. How did these deputies find out about this mass amount of drugs? Im sure the real story is,one of the officers got ripped off by his pot dealer. Also pay attention to when these 'drug busts' happen. Ironically its always near an election. makes you say hmmmm.
So i tend to agree with Nunya. and as for Swanson, i know a few deputies that work in the jail out there. Do you know the county Sheriff's are only REQUIRED to come in to the office 4 times a year, minimum. And guess how many times they come in? 4 times !
You people that vote, please do your homework. And Carrollton, the only decent person you have down there, in ANY type of law enforcement, is Judge Olivito. VERY classy, fair guy. Id like to see him come to Canton. Someone needs to replace these wack jobs they.call judges up here. And thank you Nunya. Well said !

How many people have you taken to jail saying THAT little phrase to? Did you wear that into the ground ? But guess what? it was only funny the first couple of times you said it. Time to hang that one in the closet, moron.

Dale Williams works between 80 and 100 hours each and every week! The last sheriff to work like that was Dean Yeager! As for Olivito being a good judge, what the hell are you smoking? He is a disgrace to the bench and his mafia politics need to go back to Jefferson county!
