Hey I'm not condoning this guys actions but I must agree with Truth be Told about the double standard. I also find it odd that prosecutors went after this guy only after a couple jealous partners discovered one another.

Just two days ago, the Slantinel had the story of the Osceola County school teacher who got TWO DAYS for having sex with a 14-year old student. TWO DAYS! And, that was time already served. Nah, there's no double standard.

Read the story again. He watched these girls grow up, he coerced them into taking drugs (which he called 'truth pills' telling them they would help for headaches), and had sex with them when they were too weak to lift their head off the pillow (that came out in evidence; see Ch 9 report).
It's premeditated and not limited to one encounter. And, for the first poster, feel free to send your daughter to this 'dedicated teacher'. We're all very sure of what he is dedicated to. I was in the courtroom when he agreed to plead guilty. No further evidence is needed.

I'm sure Bubba will enjoy teaching Georgio some new "dance" moves.

I love that the only reason he got caught was the 2 "victims" found out they were being cheated on.

Not true. Police indicated that there were a total of 8 girls that came forward and probably more that will not. A sad sign of the control he had over them. Who knows what he promised/threatened them with to keep their silence. But, in the end, the truth was going to come out.

Sex with an underage child is Sex with an underage child....No matter if it is a Woman or a Man doing it. Where is the Equality in prosecution, when women get house arrest, and men get prison??....He didn't give them Ecstasy (which they could get at any time, from anybody)all the time, and they continued to have sex with him....until they became "Girls Scorned", when they discovered he was cheating on them. Only then did they think "It was wrong".

Georgio was my dance teacher for five years and it's just so weird to me to see the mug shot or hear names on the television of people that I knew! He was a great teacher and shortly after these incidents he straightened out his life. He found God. I still believe that what he did was wrong and the time that he will spend in jail is justly deserved, but don't you, for one second, think that this is a bad man. You probably never knew this man. He was my hero; he was who I looked up to when I needed guidance. Everyone makes mistakes; his was just a little bigger than most people’s…

I bet a million dollars this won't be the 1st response you get Matthew. He might have been your hero and you might have looked up to him, but Georgio was and is a bad man. Supplying drugs to teens and then taking advantage of them sexually. You are correct when you say everyone makes mistakes and I hope you are right when you say he found God. Sometimes people have to hit absolute rock bottom before they can get saved.
Matthew,
I have some advice. Don't make human beings your heroes. They will disappoint you often. We are all sinful. Put your hope and faith in Jesus--he will never fail you!

A mistake is forgetting to gas up your car and running out...
A mistake is putting chicken seasonings on your steak on the grill...
A mistake is adding two plus two and coming up with 5...
What Georgio did was REPEATEDLY take advantage of these (and other) girls and use not only drugs but his position of authority and trust (the same trust you feel for him) to take advantage of them.
As you mature, you will see the difference. It IS hard to see your 'mentor' in this light. But remember, as parent we paid him to teach our kids to dance; not to give them life lessons. We expected him to protect them while they were in his care; not to usurp our authority and physically/emotionally injure them.
I'm with the above commenter; if he found God - that's great; many convicted and guilty felons do. Hopefully, it will lead him on the right path in 5-6 yrs. But my children will be nowhere near that path.

Yes this is the real Meaghan. I already know that I will get endless replies from the Georgio supporters, I expect that. I’m not going to sit here and claim that I understand the Georgio supporter stance because I am not one nor do I associate with one. With that said I want to say thank you to all of the supporters who stood by us all along. Your words of encouragement have helped me through what I hope to be the darkest chapter of my life. Strength was provided by these words of love and I am forever grateful for all of you, you know who you are. I also want to thank the LMPD and State Attorney’s office, their dedication has allowed justice to prevail and has given EVERYONE the chance to move on. I felt that my presence wasn’t necessary in during sentencing yesterday due to the fact that I have been in the process of moving on for the past year. It would have been a step back for me personally to be surrounded by some of the negativity. I have gotten the impression from the blogs and news that people believe that I am a liar and that I relish in the idea of Georgio going to jail. I find this claim ridiculous, I’m actually deeply upset that everything had to come to this and that my most cherish childhood memories are to be left forever tainted. So go ahead naysayers, say something that I haven’t already heard, and try to be at least creative this time. I ‘m finally read to move on with my life and I hope the same for all. And to my supporters, let people talk for it’s not worth it because we know that justice truly reigned on November 19, 2008.

OH man, they used to bring this guy into my elementary school and force us to dance for him. HA I just remember him always saying "don't call me cheerio."

So ironic that he would go to schools and do songs and try to teach the kids about respect and drug prevention and he goes and does this.

Did he charge you girls for lessons in horizontal dancing, or were those on the house??

haha "cheerio"
