There is a new local organization in town. Instead of "Neighborhood Watch" to fight crime, we are calling our local campaign "Neighborhood Watch 4 Animals" (NW4A).
Do you want your neighborhood rid of free-roaming animals? This would mean no more attacks on you and your pets, no more living in fear when you see a pit bull approaching you or when walking your dog or going to your mailbox, no more feces from these animals in your yard or property damage, no more feral cats killing our wild birds and chickens, no more animals spreading diseases/viruses to you and your pets, no more dead animal carcasses lying about our streets, no more wild animals lured too close to our homes, and no more of our taxes going to pay to have these animals caught and killed.
If this sounds like the kind of neighborhood you would love to live in, please join forces with NW4A to help clean up the neighborhood of free-roaming dogs (which breaks state and county leash and abandonment laws), and to keep our eyes open for cruelty and neglect of animals in our area.
We are especially looking for people that have lost animals to dog packs, been attacked by dogs (even if in a yard), or just want to live safely in your neighborhood.
In just the last year, over 10,000 cats and dogs have been picked up in Lake Los Angeles alone! 1000's of goats, sheep, cats, small dogs, chickens, and other pets and farm animals have been reported killed just in Lake Los Angeles! We know there are many more that have not been reported yet. We need that information for accurate statistics even if you don't plan to get involved or attend the meeting.
There is no Humane Society in our area. New laws are in place but Animal Control is moving too slow on enforcing them. They also need our help to speed up the process on these important new laws. If no one complains or reports about animal neglect or cruelty, or gets proper proof of these offenses, there is little to nothing that Animal Control can do.
Once we get enough calls, a meeting will be planned in Lake Los Angeles. This will be announced soon.
Tell your friends. Please help us spread the word. Refreshments will be served. Contact NW4A at BtrLife4Animals@aol.com.
