I live in the area the body parts were found and find it very sad our local police are more interested in giving traffic tickets than helping people here. I know of instances were people have been burgularized and the police didn't even show up since the burgulars had already left the premises. One policeman said we have one of the highest crime rates in the state. Our local Valley Press won't report on the things that happen here unless it makes the other news headlines. If you want a safe place to live don't move here, you'll be sorry you did.
I completely agree with you!!! I, too, live in Lake LA (about a mile from where they found the body). I am sick of the AV not taking us seriously! My husband and I moved here to get away from high crime about six years ago (from Hollywood). BIG MISTAKE!!!! The first year we were here, our car got stolen out of our very own driveway. It took three hours to get someone out, and he took MY information (I wasn't even the actual OWNER of the car). I joined the VOPs (Volunteers On Patrol) until I found out that we are putting ourselves in danger and have ABSOLUTELY NO protection. We live thirty minutes (fifteen if you drive 90mph and run all stop signs) from the Lancaster Sheriff's Department. What are they going to do to protect those trying to protect their community?!? Also, we have been told through the "grape vine" that we are looked at, out here, as the "redheaded step children" of Lancaster and Palmdale. Take it from me and the post above..... DO NOT MOVE TO LAKE LA!!! Yes, the housing is much cheaper.... but, you get what you pay for!!!

people tend to move to this area as there are not a lot of police and they can get away with their bad deeds...sad but true

How very sad. I read all the comments and not once did I see any compasion for this person or his family. He has a mother somewhere. What do you think she is feeling? All I saw was lots of sick jokes and blaming the police. It's just like Iraq, until the citizens get tired enough to rally against those who are ruining our neighborhoods the gangbangers will always be in control and no amount of police work will stop it. Do like I do. I have weapons and will use them to protect my home and family. My neighbors are more heavily armed than I am. Guess what. We have a nice quiet neighborhood.
