I guess this means until they remove all parts of the truck from interstate, that means all traffic has coming to Knoxville will have to take State route 209 to Hot Springs and then take US 25/70 to Newport or for truck traffic taking I-26 from Asheville to Johnson City and the same routes vise versa coming from Knoxville.

Asheville merchants take note! I know a lot of people - myself included - who live west of Asheville and no longer go into Asheville to shop, eat out, etc. because of the constant I-40 road closures, almost always due to trucks driving too fast and turning over. What used to be the rare incident has turned into an almost everyday occurrence going one way or the other. Time for some serious enforcement on that stretch of road and time to hold the truck companies liable for all the expense for clean-up, lost time etc. Ridiculous!

I drive a tractor and matbe if the driver was held liable if it was their fault would help more. It would also help if cars who pass a tractor trailer stop cutting us off when getting in the other lane after passing. I see it all the time. My truck will only go 65 mph and cars and suv will pass me in the left lane then get right in front of me cuuting off my stopping distance which forces me to slow down. Ya'll do not have set hours to drive we do
