I hope someone (AC-T, I know you can do it) is assembling a disc of photos of all the gatherings of love and respect for this young trooper. It's difficult for the family to attend to this kind of project now. But the little child will benefit immeasurably someday from seeing this outpouring for his father.

Especially the pictures I see of Shawn holding Tye in the nicu. I have faith that this man's child will not lack in the knowledge that his father cared for him. Not only loved by his family but by us all. My mother sends news to me that it was overwhelming for her there when carried him back home. Thank you everyone in Maggie and J-Creek and to all that could make it.

God speed, Trooper Blanton. May the hands of God hold Michaela, Tye, their family, and the community in this time of heartbreak.

Trooper David Shawn Blanton Jr. was a hero before his death, we should learn to say that to those who are acting heros in the present, and not wait until this happens. Thoughts and prayers to his family, and to all that protect us right now. He lost his life protecting you and me, as all in law inforcement do, let's honor him by thanking those still here doing the job he was doing by letting them know we appreciate what they are doing. Let those that go beyond the call of duty know how much that means to you before something like this. Life is short and many times it seems that the good (or best) do die young, so tell them while they are still here and honor them if they are not.
